(-7) squared is also 49. But yes, perfect squares are nice. The next one is thirteen (gasp!) days from now, at which point there will be 36 or six squared days left. Then there will be eleven days, then nine, then seven, then five, then three, then one... or so states the Odd Number Theorem. Wait...what? Prime numbers are fun too, though. There's one in two days! (47). *goes to make sure that 47 is indeed a prime number*

Gar, I don't like math. *makes an x with his fingers* 49 days which is in fact a perfect square. *yawns* Then 48 days which is 6x8 or 8x6 or 4x12 or 12x4 or 2x24 or 24x2 or 3x16 or 16x3.

*is wary to interrupt math discussion, as math has always eluded her* Ah, math. My old nemisis. Anyhoo, I say we have a big celebration or something. Anyone agree? Anyone at all? Er...I agree? I would attend such an e-celebration.

47 days!!
I'll try e-mailing H-C and ask about a countdown clock.
EDIT: An hour and a half later, and I got a response from H-C. In my e-mail, first I complimented them on the site and how I enjoyed it. Then I suggested the countdown. Here's the reply:
So we'll see if they come through. Watch TNN and Harperchildrens.com.

That's a really good idea. I suggested the webmaster to include such a timer here. Since I sent them an e-mail before, and they obviously read it because they changed the site, I'm hoping they'll read this one.

It appears that you've convinced them, Gigi. I advised her to change the "Mystery One" on the Mystery the Second page, but apparently she didn't read that part.

46 is the number of different arrangements (up to rotation and reflection) of 9 non-attacking queens on a 9ž9 chessboard.
6 weeks and 4 days
