I know it's too early for a real countdown, but I happened to notice that today is 200 days until the release of Book 12.
It seems sooooo long!

200 days? Is it really that long?
Oh well, it will be over before we know it. In the meantime, let's discuss and plan countdown activities.
I have my ASoUE calendar(the book-based one) marked, and I should mark the movie one. I drew a VFD insignia on the appropriate date.

What can I say? Yes, I do like to countdown. I even designed a little web page with a digitial coutdown to the day, hour, minute, second. I'd post it on the web, but I can't make it work right once I upload it.

For some reason, 200 days doesn't sound too long to me... When in actuality it's very long.
I'll allow an official countdown thread to begin at around 50 days. Like Antenora said, you can plan countdown activities here.
I plan to spend the countdown days agonising over whether to order Book the Twelfth from Amazon.co.uk, or to go out and buy it from a bookshop.

I always go to the bookshop. I can never wait for a book to come in the mail.
I'm hoping AOL will have the first few chapters on their First Read section. They had the last few available ahead of time.

I always go to the bookshop. I can never wait for a book to come in the mail. See, that's the problem. If I order from Amazon, the book migh arrive on the very morning of the day it comes out - that's what happened with Order of the Phoenix. The problem is, I just don't trust Amazon. Maybe I'll ask to order it, and then if it isn't there on the morning, we'll go to a bookstore.

When TCC came out, we ordered it from Barnes and Noble, and it got here a week after the official release date. So, nowadays when new books are being released, I just get them from the local stores.
I recommend checking stores the day before the release date, too. Just in case. Wal-Mart had TGG one day early last year.

Yea, Amazon will pre-ship Harry Potter, but not ASOUE. It probably won't leave the warehouse until it is actually released and you'd get it late.

Yes, you're right. I'll get it from a bookstore. Maybe I can get it early, like I did with Alex Rider 6.
I'll tell Mother to keep her eyes open in bookstores in the days leading up to the release date - although we still don't have a confirmed release date for Britain, though, do we?

200 days seems extremely long to me. Why? Why do we have to suffer?!!!!
