and then you have the initials which are TPP or PP, kinda comical if you stop to think about it.

Yeah someone on here said that they hated the title PP so much that they would flush it down the toilet...but on a good note even though some ppl (not me) don't like the title the cover art is great so far!

"Penultimate Peril" is pretty clumsy-sounding, and it's a confusing title because a lot of people don't know what "penultimate" means; they think it's just a synonym of "ultimate". Then again, Snicket delights in confusing words.
Oh, and he can allude to the Pony Party within this book, in connection to both many individuals having the same initials and how you should read something happier.

I do like the cover, but I'm still holding some vague hope that this isn't the real title. I mean, it's not terrible or anything, but it's just not what I expected. *sigh*
I might have liked it better if it was a surprise.

I'm ok with the title. It's pretty decent enough. *puts up with the thousand OMG IT'S NOT THE TITLE I WANTED* comments. FINALLY we get the thing. I had hoped they wouldn't manage to keep the secret until the 18th. In your face Harper Collins. Now there's just the matter of getting the book as soon as possible and devouring its contents....

For a title, it's really not too bad. And if you want something better, then make a title that will actually please you (if that's possible for alot of you), cross out the title on the book and write in your own in permanent marker. Some people may be disappointed, but their expectations are way too high (which is what happens when you become over-over-over-obsessive)

Wow. I missed so much while I was sleeping. This makes me sad, I'm at school and I started screaming, the whole class looked at me and then I returned to reading this thread. It's ok I suppose. But in a way I didn't really want to find it out. It wasn't in this thread either, rather in a thread that is now locked. Well Penultimate Peril it is... I just want to know why the spaces on LS.com weren't right. I mean Peril has the five spaces but why not use the right amount of spaces for penultimate?

I wonder how they got the book this early? The photo there doesn't look fake, but the parts we haven't seen on TNN.com aren't that clear. I can't tell who the top-hatted man is. Scroll down to October 11th, and it has the alleged dedication, too: www.grrface.com(I'd post a direct link to the October 11th entry, but the URL spoils part of it).

Is it just me or did Snicket use orange/red for the color of the book?

I'm not sure but I think the white thing hanging from under the top-hatted man's nose could be fake moustache coming off.
Oh, and the Beatrice line is ""For Beatrice-No one could extinguish my love, or your house."
