Wether they perished or not, doesn't really matter as the way Daniel worded the ending made it sound as if they were unlikely to make a reappearance in book 13th

Yes, I think they're either dead or not going to appear and harm the Baudelaires again. Someone on a site I found a very long time ago had a theory that Olaf's comrades would perish one by one and then leave olaf alone with the Baudelaires. After hugh colette and kevin were acquired I doubted this, but look what we have now... All Olaf's comrades are dead or at least alienated from him.

i seriously doubt many impontant charectors was klled as that would make the beuds mass murderers-
also, i am missing some serious logic in the last part..
sunny destroyed the last safe place to warn k.snicket that the last safe place is destroyed? is that all there is to that??

Not just to warn Kit Snicket - to warn all the noble volunteers on the fire-extinguishing side of the schism that Thursday's meeting was cancelled, and that it was no longer safe.
Edit: And on that fitting note, I'm locking this thread. The book has now been released, and anyone who wants spoilers has now been spoiled to their heart's content. Besides, this is turning into a duplicate of the discussion thread, and there's no place for that.
Locking, un-stickying.
