It could be possible it is the 'Bombinating Beast' from 'Who Could that be at this hour?' which Moxie tells Lemony was slain by Lady Mallahan, perhaps it's a descendant of the beast, or a variant of the same species. Or perhaps if it is a submarine it was built to look like the Bombinating Beast perhaps it's creator knew much about it.
