Where do you guys think LS came up with Sunny's name? I have a theory... Some of you will understand it.
Daniel Handler makes a reference to Nine Stories, by JD Salinger by calling one of his characters Esme. Isn't it possible that he based Sunny on the uhhh... interesting character named Sunny from The Catcher in the Rye?

and their attourney (prosucuter or defendent I've no idea) was named Violet
