heehee. i think the reason everyone is so bitter towards dear ol' Quigly is because he stole violet from duncan. you're thinking 'well duh!' but the thing is, we wouldn't hate him as much if Duncan was a bad guy. he's just so cute and polite and i cant stand the thought of his heart being broken. well, why is his heart broken? because of his brother of course! that's why we kind of get this feeling that it's QUIGLY'S fault that Duncan's going to be a sad little bachelor. it's NOT though...but i cant help but want to pinch him  . hmph. I'd hate Duncan if he stole Quigley's girlfriend.  |

Violet wasn't Duncan's girlfriend. We don't even know that he liked her at all. All the we know is that they got annoyed when Carmelita accused them of being boyfriend and girlfriend.

I don't care who is whose girlfriend, but I think Duncan had more of a character. I personally think that Snicket/Handler hasn't done a great job with character protrayals in the past 2 or 3 books.

;D All Quagmires do rule! But nobody ever talks about Isadora. I guess it's just the boys fighting over Violet that gets everyone so side tracked from the blossoming poet. In my opinion, if the Quagmires ever do meet up again, I think there might be some sibling rivalry or maybe just some dirty looks. The boys might try to do everything for Violet like maybe "OMG! can I get the door for you?" and Isadora might try to defend her from her two brothers.
