Does anyone else find all the adults in ASOUE really stupid? They seem to be compleatly oblivious to everything that happens to the Baudelaires, especially things like murder and attempted murder. Maybe Snicket/Handler is trying to portray life through a childs prespective, where everything they say is disregarded. :-XHmmmmmmmm....................makes you wonder................................

I mean other than them.... And even then you have to admit that they were slightly ignorant to what the children were trying to tell them.

Even Monty and Aunt Josephine ignored the children's warnings about Count Olaf. Hal was probably the most able adult the orphans have met.

That's just a reality of life DH has hit on...most adults completly disregard everything children say, if they even listen in the first place.

He doesn't quite make them stupid, he makes most of them...spineless or cowardly. ie: Jerome, Hector, Josephine

True. But Uncle Monty had good intentions. Josephine was just a whimp. Hector was a whimp too. How sad................

Hector wasn't a whimp. He simply was afraid that the Council would burn him. Who could blame him, being a member of VFD?

Well, the WWHBNB and the MWBBNH are going after him and Duncan and Isadora, so he might get killed. But I rather like it when my favorites get killed for some reason...

Hector was my favorite gaurdian, and I do not wish to see him get killed. He was as nice as Uncle Monty, but unlike Monty he listened to the Baudelaires and tried to help them. And the Quagmires BETTER not get killed!

If the Quags got killed I might have to sue DH for emotional harrasment. Or if one of the Bauds got killed.

If the Quags got killed I might have to sue DH for emotional harrasment. I'm with you on that, unless it's Quigley...Well, anyway, I try to explain to my friend that adults don't really care what we think. She just turned 11 in Sept. so I'm her elder.

D may want to kill S off, but I doubt the publisher will let him kill a baby off.
