Throughout the whole series, all these crimes have taken place, and the only time we really see any law figures around is in the first book.(Justice Strauss  What ever happened to the police?   TEXT |

Remember that the bad side of the schism is covering up the events. There were detectives at the lumber mill who said that it had only been an accident (in LSTUA). Also, Count Olaf and Esmé were the police in TVV. Since THH, the children have been actively hiding from the authorities.

Your right! I forgot, the Bauds really DON'T want the police around. And I don't think that Olaf and Esme count as authority figures of the LAW, seeing as they've broken it so much!  |
