I don't think Mr. Poe is a bad guy. He's just unbelievably stupid. I mean, in Book 6, he didn't believe the Baudelaires when they informed him of their suspicions. He just dismissed them outright without a second thought. You'd think after being right FIVE PREVIOUS TIMES he would, at the very least, consider the matter first before dismissing them outright. Mr. Poe is not bad man. Just annoyingly stupid.

No, he's not wicked. He's just stupid, or pretending to be stupid. I think he's in VFD [moneymanagers.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=bio&action=display&thread=1067258061]. But Snicket said "was" not "is" so we don't know what side of the schism he's on. (That's the real problem w/ ASoUE and VFD)
