I'm quite a fan of the hook-handed man - he's almost not so much a typical villain's sidekick as a villain unto himself.

My favorite are the powdered face ladies. At first I really didn't notice them and then later in the series they started speaking more and doing more stuff that lead to when they left in the 10th book.

I wonder if there is more to do with the fire where their sibling died then meets the eye?
