Bears in the Mortmain Mountains? What have I forgotten? Bruce said something about bears tht were very intelligent and were trained as soldiers. However, I'm pretty sure Duncan said that there were no bears, at least no soldier bears, in the mountains. I also hope we get more coherent backstory inthe final two books. |

That would be Quigley, and I'm pretty sure that Bruce can't be trusted - not because he's evil, but because he's stupid, just like Mr. Poe. And there probably were bears - I think Lemony mentioned something about ferocious animals returning to their caves, or some such stuff - but I think the animals that bear analysis are the Volunteer Feline Detectives, i.e. the mountain lions, which were trained to smell smoke from a long way away. |

we learned of Lucafont's past, and how he wasn't always evil and volatile. Very cool. He better not die.

Well, in the UA her name is blanked out, so I assume her last name wasn't Genvieve.

Well I assume there is a reason.
Perhaps Lemony wouldn't have written her full name, so as to add confusion. Or he would have just left her middle names out completely. So meh.
