i think lemony is the baudelaire's father and he is the one parent that is alive and he is following them because he wants to make sure they're alive and well. but he cannot catch up to them because he has to hide from the people chasing him.
it sounds kindof wild but tell me what u think.

and beatrice is mrs baudelaire and she died in the fire so he is upset about it.

Lemony has said more than once that he wishes he were the man who married Beatrice, but that she married someone else.

Lemony can't be. In the picture from the Snicket file, it shows []Mr.[/] and Mrs. Baudelare, Jacques and someone who's turned their face away - obviously Snicket. |
