If anyone has pictures of merchindise, e.g: The Magic 8 Ball, Perilous Parlour games, etc... please post them here. UK members need the pic because we don't have ANY merchindise. Thanks for all who have/will post/posted.

What are those first two pictures from? Is that just a different version of the game...or something? Because I have the game and have never seen those first two...

Oh, and I have the 8 Ball. If you like I could take pictures and upload them to somewhere, then give you the link.

As it says at the bottom of the images...they're from the "mass market version", i.e., the version of the game that ships to Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, etc, as opposed to the one they sell in book and game stores with the metal playing pieces.

I've begun cataloging the promotional items I have acquired over the years. I'm not going to bother taking photos of the game or 8-ball or other widely available mechandise, just the freebies. Keep an eye on this URL...I'll be updating it over the next few weeks. Only the first batch is up, I'm still looking through boxes for a lot of the pieces. img78.photobucket.com/albums/v342/squalor/asoue_promos/

where did you get all taht stuff? Were they free with the books and stuff? The items are sent to book sellers by Harper Collins to help promote the latest Snicket books. I have some very good friends who run a bookstore and are kind enough to set aside these things for me. I've been meaning to catalog them for some time. I've been tearing my house apart looking for the tin of greeting cards...for some reason I had one of them separate and floating around, but I can't find the rest. Those and the Misfortune Cards are my favorite promos.

These movers are different than the ones in my version of the game, which are pewter and very cute. Apparently there are two versions of the game; these are supposedly from the "mass market version." Which implies that the game I have will be a collectable some day, worth outrageous money.

I updated the gallery with some more scans, and I also scoured eBay for images of promos that I haven't been able to track down. I noticed that there are at least two film promos that I haven't seen (and the eBay auctions didn't include pictures)-- a radio and a special version of the 8-ball with the film logo. img78.photobucket.com/albums/v342/squalor/asoue_promos/

You'd think the 'mass market' version would be easier to find, huh? I've only gotten the original.

Ive got (I suppose) teh special version because it has the metal movers, which are quite nice. But personally, I like teh box cover for the mass marketed version better, which I havent seen before in stores.

I have the misfortune cards as shown by alvinrays. I have one question what is the Baudelaire Free Book? (Do you have the magnets??) I got the misfortune cards by reserving the 9th book @ Waldenbooks.

What is the classroom activity kit? (it's the 12th pic in alvinrays' collection) The Activity Kit was actually a large box (which I no longer have...lost in a move). Inside were 6 or so of the rubberstamps, a bunch of buttons, many of those notepaper pads and the booklet, which lists various classroom and party ideas. I have the misfortune cards as shown by alvinrays. I have one question what is the Baudelaire Free Book? (Do you have the magnets??) I got the misfortune cards by reserving the 9th book @ Waldenbooks. The Baudelaire Free Book is just the book cover shown, but it unfolds into a poster of "Have You Seen This Man?" with several of Olaf's disguises, similar to the one on lemonysnicket.com There are two magnet sets that I know of. I have a few of the "Dear Magnet Enthusiast" magnetic poetry set, which I still have to scan, but only an incomplete Count Olaf set (the one with various disguises you can place on him)- I've never seen another one. As aside for the person searching for these things at a bookstore- they're long gone. They were released in small quantities for each book, and are either given away or taken home by employees. Some of the buttons and the Grim Grotto tissue are the only pieces I believe you have a chance of finding at the moment, excluding eBay of course. I know there are more pieces out there...I scan eBay every now and again to see what turns up. There was a promotional radio for the film, but I haven't seen a photo of it yet, nor have I encountered one myself. My good friend manages a theater that will be getting the ASOUE film, so I hope to get my hands on lots of movie promos when the time comes.
