We need to move this to Putrid Products...this board's just for the film now. For clarification, the Nintendo Power review is for the GBA version, while the rest are for the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube versions. No reviews of the PC game yet. As an aside, Chronicles of Riddick and various Star Wars and Lord of the Rings games have gotten the best reviews as far as licensed titles go, but this is very respectable. Yay!

alvinrays, I just wanted to tell you that your avatar is the GREATEST THING EVER, if it's from what I'm assuming it is (Spaced, episode 1.3?).

We will avoid mentioning the character's name. Return kudos on your Katamari Damacy avatar. It's my favorite game this year, hands down...and only $20!

Star Wars games aren't usually based on the movies, they just put them out to make an extra dollar, and because fans like them. Although Star Wars IS a series of movies, the games are rarely based on them. But yeah, I understand what you mean.

Star Wars games aren't usually based on the movies, they just put them out to make an extra dollar, and because fans like them. Although Star Wars IS a series of movies, the games are rarely based on them. But yeah, I understand what you mean. First off, your comments about Star Wars games apply to ANY licensed game, so there's little sense in throwing stones. Why do you think the Snicket games were made? Second, I'll grant you that some of them are just cheap cash grabs (Super Bombad Racing leaps to mind). However, the arcade and Super Nintendo versions of Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back are obviously based on the films, and are very highly regarded if not considered outright classics. I would hope that any licensed game would provide an experience that takes the player beyond just playing through the events of the film, or it amounts to nothing more than an interactive commercial. As such I view any game that uses the license but not necessarily a film as its framework as a valid endeavor, and often preferable. Personally, I would like to see future Snicket games take the children on adventures that we haven't read about in the books, and if they had Handler's involvment in the script writing, all the better.
