Only one thing to say (said jokingly, just to let you know):
All non-conformists dye your hair!
What I mean is that all non-conformists seem to be joining together and doing the same thing i.e. conforming to one another. Just sorta funny.
Yeah, it has. But since I "rebel" (it's more of a subdued thing) against my classes (who sometimes I underestimate), I'm smart and whatnot.
Okay, I'll shut up now.

Hot Topic fills me with a deep, deep shame every time I walk past it.
Wicker Man said it perfectly (except for the last line, because I really couldn't care less about those). I really don't think the stuff they have in there is that great. They have about five neat band t-shirts, from what I see on the website (two or three of which are for the Beatles), and for a store that is "All about the music", they don't have a lot of selection in the CD section. Two feet of space for a CD rack and a few concert DVDs doth not a music store make. I used to have to go in there to get comic books, but they screwed that up too, because apparently the one near me never orders new ones. So, if I want to buy a comic book, I have to wait and pay shipping prices even more ridiculous than the already-stupid price of comic books.
I'll admit that I think people who complain about posers all the time are annoying, but a lot of the time what they're saying has merit. Not to mention, I'd much rather listen to someone talk about how much they hate people who think that Good Charlotte is punk than hang out with someone who thinks Good Charlotte is punk, dig?
As for ASOUE merch at Hot Topic: I'd die. Seriously. Considering the fact that half of my schoolmates shop exclusively at Hot Topic, and most likely would buy all of the Violet Costumes and OMG JIM CARREY!!!111! shirts WITHOUT READING THE BOOKS...
I can bearly stand the thought of it.
I'm making iron-ons, as soon as I buy some more t-shirts.

Heh...I was simply trying to lighten the mood with a glib comment, as I was fearful of once again sinking into the "bitter old crank" persona that so often comes across in my posts.

I would probably know this if I posted more in these sections. Hello, I've never properly met you. My name is Kate. *shakes hand*
Not that the above comments really had anything to do with the topic.

Hot Topic used to be the best place ever. Then, they started selling all that moronic abhorrent 7th-letter-of-the-alphbet, third-letter-of-the-alphabet sh*t. Sorry, it justs pains me to type that "band's" name. It pains me evern more to say it (which I haven't done in, like, 2 1/2 years). Anyway, Hot Topic has MArilyn Monroe, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Goth stuff, so I kinda have to like it. But ASoUE merch does NOT belong at Hot Topic. Neither does LotR or HP. Popular literature and Gothicism (don't ask) do not mix. At all. I love all the weird people with messed-up hair and clothes that work there, but the posers that shop there piss me off. They don't belong there.

The only problem I have with Hot Topic is the overpricedness. The one in my mall doesn't seem to be swamped with posers like yours are, apparently.
I just hope they sell ASOUE stuff there, because I've got gift cards galore. I'll probably only buy ones with drawings by Brett Heliquist (sp?), not screenshots from the movie.
My sister works at a printing press, but a) I have no money and b) I have no drawing skills, so making my own shirt would be stupid.
That "I am NOT Count Olaf" idea is pure genius. I want!

a) She's your sister- free stuff! b)You don't necessarily have to draw anything. You could show your sister the drawing(s) you want on your shirt.

We don't have a hot topic in the UK, from what I've heard it's a shop for "goths", "punks", "metalheads" and other overused non-existent soup labels. I've seen the website and some of the stuff is ok (Not the clothes, you can get most of that stuff from official, less overpriced official merch. outlets). It depnds what you want really, If you want an own label acessory, I guess you can brave the green day music and piercings to get it but there are way better places to buy stuff. Band shirts- www.8ball.com

Yeah, I know posers every where! But it makes me think.....If you say everyone's a poser than what are you? Not to be mean or anything but how do you know if you're not a poser yourself? Oh and I think it would be easier for them to sell ASOUE clothes at Target or one of those retailers.

I hope a store that's not very well-known sells ASoUE stuff, because otherwise EVERYONE at my school would buy it, and so would I, and then I would look like everybody else, which is the opposite of what I want. It makes me so mad that Lemony's books (and movie) are becoming so popular because it brings less genuinuity to the atmosphere of the books. The movie is the worst thing Daniel Handler could've done. Almost everyone at my school says "Oh, I love those books!" or "Yeah, I can't wait to see the movie!" or "Isn't there a movie of that?" or something stupid whenever I bring up LS' ASoUE. I hate it.

I love Hot Topic, too. I just don't like everything about it. I love Napoleon Dynamite! I haven't been to Hot Topic in awhile, so I wouldn't know. My nearest HT is like 2 hours away, and my parents never want to drive that far because they hate me. You guys are retarded! Classic...

Thank you for expressing my feelings for me!!!!! That's how I feel too. Being semi-goth, I think it's only fair that they sell ASOUE stuff @ HT; I get alot of my material there. Like the idea with the iron-ons, cause I have done that before. Now if I can just get some black, white, and maroon-colored t-shirts.......
(Please note: Not all goths are "Posers", as you so claim. Besides, it takes one to know one! I don't care what you think about goths, and I don't care if you kick me off this site [please don't] or never talk to me again because of it. I am who I am, and as long as I have that, I'm fine.)
