I think he will either give every answer in The End or just left it ambiguous
I didn't come here for a very long time...

I think He'll reveal the important information and leave somethings unanswered.

That's pretty much the consensus. In an interview that we've brought up several times he says he'll tell some parts of the beatrice story but leave it up to us to fill in some of the blanks. He's not the type of author who'll just lay everything out and give it all away, we'll have to work for some of it even after waiting years for the final volume. And we may still have some topics left completely open for speculation, not just fill in the blank based on parts of the story and clues.

Maybe Beatrice has nothing to do with the Bauds. She's just Lemony's gf from long ago...

Maybe Beatrice has nothing to do with the Bauds. She's just Lemony's gf from long ago... That's rather unlikely, as Snicket has stated that Beatrice is the reason that he follows the Baudelaires' case.

I think all the questions involving the bauds will be answered, but those involved with VFD may not be. Seeing as the end is the end of the bauds but not the end of VFD

Yeah... That could be, but I still hope the series draws to a close.

Possibly, as Lemony said in the angelfire interview that we'll find out who Mr. Baudelaire is and certain events with the bauds but he said he'll leave part of the VFD backstory open for us to guess/predict ourselves.

That's good. Expected, but good.

I'd like to see him write more books but ones that aren't focused on VFD.

Like his books for adults? I'm sure he'll keep writing those.

No, books uunder LS's name, but not about VFD, like the Lump od Coal. Like The Composer Is Dead, which is set to become a book at some point in the future? Edit: At least, there's no evidence so far to suggest that it's related. Snicket just seems to be going back to his roots in it - a mysterious investigator of misfortune.

I asked Handler yesterday if a release date had been set (read more about it in the WWriter thread, whenever I post it), and he said no, it has not. He expects it sometime next year, and he's trying to get this illustrator he really really likes to illustrate it (no word on who that is, I wasn't pushy).

i think ASOUE should end with "the end." if it ends as brilliantly as it started out, it will be one of the most flawless and extraordinary creations for children ever to be written. it should be untainted by "follow-ups".
