[glow=red,2,300]On the cover of the The End that has been released it has a picture of a leg. The trousers match other illustrations of Olaf and this person has a tatto of an eye, on thier ankle! What do you think? [/glow]

We've discussed this previously in the official The End speculation thread. It's been pretty much confirmed that the leg there belongs to Olaf(there's no-one else it could easily be, considering that the Baudelaires and Olaf are alone on their boat as of now), but it's doubtful that he's dead. I get the impression that this image takes place soon after the ship has been wrecked on the island, which will probably be quite early in The End, and killing Olaf then wouldn't make sense. He may be injured or unconscious, though.

Maybe... I actually think he WILL die, but not right after the storm. I think he should die at the end.

I hope he dies near the end as well, like Antenora said it makes no sense to kill him off in the opening pages as soon as they find solid ground.

I think it may be a trick. Like, they're acting or something.
"I'm going to lay down in the sand," Olaf said, "And pretend I'm dead. You be sad. 'Kay?" "'Kay," said the Baudelaires.
Something like that.
