Quote from Daniel Handler in an article on a CNN website: “I like the idea of a story continuing in the mind of a reader." If he tells us everything, how can the story continue in our minds? Vince, I hope you'll re-read The End (or perhaps even the entire series) and change your mind.

I loved it. It made me cry in an 'it's the end of something' type way and just because all of the characters were crying. A. should be less emotional.

The part where Kit and the Bauds cry together kind of got to me. And it did so explain some stuff! It explained the Baudelaire parents experienced at least SOME stuff their kids did, like the island. And if you pay attention to the near ending, it tells you that Beatrice is the mom.

I didn't like it at the moment that I finished it, I thought about the ending for an hour, and said, "Wow. Cool." So, yeah, it was great. There was no "This happened to them, that happened to her," rubbish that most books end with

Like a utopia The end was good, but it just makes me feel sad that he did leave us with only the Baudelaires story. But whats meant to be is.

But if there is too little, then there is to much freedom and the reader cannot decide on what they think should/does happen after the book ends.
