I liked it but overall the entire book didn't give enough information or tie up enough loose ends to fit my taste. But Chapter 14, that notwithstanding, was quite good. Beatrice!

Exactly--but the whole ? mark thing helped me with my fanfiction, 'The Great Unknown'. I too was not satisfied with the lack of Quagmire activity (Quagmire activity?...ah well...). I do hope that Lemony comes back, though.

I kind of actually enjoyed the 14th chapter. It wrapped quite a bit of everything up, and without that chapter, we MIGHT never know who Beatrice was?

Well, Chapter Fourteen DOES have 13 pages.

There's just one last thing I'm questioning about: If Snicket is going to write A Second Series of Unfortunate Events, then will we finally know anything about the sugar bowl or the snicket file?

There's just one last thing I'm questioning about: If Snicket is going to write A Second Series of Unfortunate Events, then will we finally know anything about the sugar bowl or the snicket file? I believe we already know them: The former was carried off by Lemony(who was the mysterious taxi driver) in TPP, as Lemony states in the narration that he knows that the taxi driver took a certain object from a damp hiding place. It contained information that proved him innocent of the crimes he'd been accused of-- his enemies wanted to take and destroy it. The latter has been abandoned and rendered obsolete since TSS, but I think we got the information about it that was valuble to the plot. There may be questions that aren't answered, but Snicket accounts for this fact with a theme of The End: We cannot know everything, but we know what is important to the story. And I don't think a second Series is necessary or likely to appear.

I'd love for a second ASoUE to appear, even though it's unlikely. But it may be, since I was just thinking of one thing...
Why did he use the penultimate stanza of La Fleurs du Mal in the copyright page of Ch. 14? I personally think that the last stanza would fit better, anyways. I think he meant to tell us that he will be writing something again, but maybe not a new series... Even though it is possible.
Oh, and maybe the sugar bowl contained The Snicket File? You said that it contains something that proves the villains wrong and Lemony correct, like the Snicket File. But it may be impossible, because Madame Lulu hopes that the Snicket File was blown away to the hinterlands... Why would she think so if she knew about the sugar bowl? Hmm....
P.S: FFP? Where'd you get that? *puzzled*

Olaf and the man with a beard but no hair and the woman with hair but no beard had the Snicket File in their possession in The Slippery Slope, and yet were still actively searching for the sugar bowl; it wouldn't make sense for the Snicket File to be contained in the bowl. From the notes in the Rare Edition of The Bad Beginning, which I think have been pretty much retconned out of the continuity: Rare Edition Notes

Will consult on that later.
