Yeah, I know, but the way she incorporated it into the books seemed...can't find the exact right word, it just seemed a bit phoney.
Sorry if it seems I'm undecided about how I dislike Cho, it just seems as if the way JK Rowling decided to write about her is, again I can't find the right word. You may want to "argue" with me, like Klaus just did, but that's OK, because I'm not writing this clearly either.

(trying to figure out what you're saying ) ^_^
..I don't like Cho either...her whole tale just seemed to be there for filler to me...helping to make the book big, alone... ^__^

Did it even say Cho was Chinese? I know the name makes it sound Chinese but I never knew if JKR stated that Cho is Chinese.

Not once did she say she was Asian. However, in the picture at the top of "Beetle at Bay" she does look it.
Then again, she might be a girl who's parents like Chinese names and just happen to have the last name Chang from some way back ancestor.

Well, even the name is a point enough... Cho isn't a common name in the West, I think she did use it just to give variety.
Seamus Finnigan goes along the same lines, it's a purely Irish sounding name, where Cho Chang is purely Asian.
I still don't like Cho, even from the beginning. The image of 'a perfect girl', one that you'd die to be with, worship from afar. Annoying. Very annoying.

What's wrong with that? I'm just looking at it from a girl's perspective...

Anyways, if we are going to narrow the hate to a specific name I hereby am creating a new word--skankyhoism people who are prejudiced against skanky hos. cho is NOT a skanky ho:'( you on the otherhand... And Mamba, yeah what is wrong with the perfect girl? Don't tell me you hate me that much (; there is so much wrong with that sentance...

Don't tell me it doesn't say that Cho is Asian. Not to be mean or anything, but are you sure you read the 5th HP book? Then again, it's pretty long, so you might've missed it. It says that Cho has "deep, Asian lines" or something of the sort, if that wasn't exactly it. How can someone have deep, Asian lines without being Asian?
BTW, nationalism, as in the fact that people of a particular race or nationality belong in a country or can feel that it's their country. But it's not the right word so you might as well forget it. I'm not forcing you to forget it though.

It's supposed to be an insult, unless "skanky ho" will make the same turn the word "nerd" did. Nowadays "nerd" is a perfectly acceptable word.

It's supposed to be an insult, unless "skanky ho" will make the same turn the word "nerd" did. Nowadays "nerd" is a perfectly acceptable word. It's only an insult if you want it to be. And of course theres a perfect one. But only in your head. Cho is a fictional character. Of course, she isn't perfect. She cries too much...
