im pretty sure he did NOT get avada kedavra, but in the book all it said was that he got hit by a beam of light. BUT, everything made it sound like it was the falling behind the veil that did him in, e.g. harry wouldnt have believed he was still alive if he had gotten hit by a killing curse.
