I think ginny's right. Except the 7th book is scheduled for 2038, not 2018.

bah, you guys don't know how lucky you have it....
Rowling has published the books in this order:
1997 Sorcerer's/Philospher's Stone 1998 CoS 1999 PoA 2000 GoF 2003 OotP
Whereas I also read the Stephen King " Dark Tower" series which he began *30* years ago. The Gunslinger was finally published in 1982 (I was 8)
I started reading them in 1987 with the Drawing of the Three
the next came out *5* years later with the Waste Land...and it was a CLIFFHANGER.
He didn't reveal the end of the Cliffhanger for ANOTHER 5 years with Wizards and Glass in 1997
Then he was almost killed, but published Wolves of the Calla *5* years later (this year) and I'm glad to say he wrote the last three back to back so the last one comes out November 2004 *drum roll* 17 years after I started reading the series...
7 books, just like Harry Potter, but I doubt it will take Rowling 22 years to finish.

No, they're just joking since it took so long to get the 5th one out. JK meant to have the 5th one out by 2002 but there was this big plaidgarism case and she had a new baby so it was delayed, and then delayed again... So I suspect the 6th will be out around late 2004-middle 2005, and the seventh 2006 or 2007 Long wait, it sucks.

WOw, J capsiotus person is good at fooling people with bad info. She said Lemony was called Lemoy Snicket and that Quirell's name was Hershel. Now 2038 for book 7. sheesh. enough already. Just look at my previous post.

JK Rowling is meant to get it out by this summer... . Captiosus: O.O J: O.O Captiosus: Never. In. An. Effing. Million. Billion. Trillion. Years. J: Jesus would sooner rise again this summer than HP6 get published this summer. Captiosus: Are you sure you don't mean...the movie? J: And who knows? JK could die in an accident before she finishes the 6th book. [agnry glares] J: What? She could--celebrities in the middle of a beloved book series are mortal. The fates do not grant them eternal life until their books are finished.

There is NO WAY JKR will get 6 done by the end of the year. She has to promote her film, take care of her kids and oversee GoF casting, etc. I say mid 2005. At the LATEST the end of 2006. Geesh. I will be 16. I started reading when I was eight.
Edit: Whoops, I'll be 17.
