Gosh.... One letter different!!! Do you think it's possible JKR or LS copied one another? I just got into ASOUE and HP, so I don't know which one came first, TVV, or TPOA.... Disscuss.

Violet and Lavender? Lupin and Dupin? Cracked glasses? Total coincidence.

DUPIN IS CALLED DUPIN FROM E.A. POE'S DETECTIVE STORIES!
LUPIN IS LUPIN BECAUSE "LUPIN" IS RELATED TO WOLF!
ARGGGGGGH!!!!!!!!!!

I bet that like, JK Rowling came onto this very site and saw the name Dupin, and was like "Dude, I should totally take that name, change the D to an L and like, call one of my characters that!!" I mean, its only obvious, since the names are so alike and all!

Maybe she came and saw that I was Dupin. She thought, I WANT HIM IN MY BOOKS! so she changed it to Lupin. See..JK knows who I am. Can you just think before you write things, like you wrote about Ike, not actually checking to see if you were right. You actually said something which wasn't true, and I had to prove wrong.

Gosh.... One letter different!!! Do you think it's possible JKR or LS copied one another? I just got into ASOUE and HP, so I don't know which one came first, TVV, or TPOA.... Disscuss. I beleive it was TPOA. But as everyone has said here, just because they have a letter difference, it doesn't mean they have been copied. And isn't Dupin a play on words for Dupe? Just like Sham? Now, my friend believes that JK copied LOTR as much as she could (examples: Dementers/Wraiths, Longbottom Leaf/Neville Longbottom, Sauron/Voldemort, Frodo/Harry, etc...) Actually, once I read in the paper and article titled "When Frodo met Harry" and it listed the similairities between them, such as the dark hair, how they were orphans, etc...
