Anyone else think he'd make a great HP director? I know his movies are kinda dark, but thats how the books are becoming. I think he would do an awesome job, but what about you guys?

If Alfonso Cuaron gives up the job, then Burton would be a good choice. He wouldn't go, though.

I reckon Mike Newell will do an even worse job than Chris Columbus. For shame.

Mike Newell did pretty well with Mona Lisa Smile, I think...But I don't know about him directing an HP film, it doesn't seem right, somehow...
I thought Cuaron did a good job...

Yeah, I wish. Tim Burton rocks! If he did the ASOUE movies I would live him forever.

Well, I thought Chris Columbus did a superb job!! Why did you say he did bad, Whales? I felt that he was so scared of straying from the plot line that he wouldn't allow the actors, who are mostly very good, to bring their own dimensions to the story. Cuaron almost let them off the proverbial leash.

Well, would you think you know everything about the movie, and then the movie's about something else like searching for the old man that lives in the trunk!? I mean, yes it would do good for the directors to stray from the plotline a bit, but they should at least stay in the boundries 75% of the movie.

Yes, he would need to stick loosely to it, but Chris Columbus was far too restraining.

Cuaron almost let them off the proverbial leash. I get what you're saying. He did give them more freedom, but with that, he did stray a little from the plot and the understandibility. Although I guess that wasn't necessarily his fault. *shrug* Tim Burton would be a prime choice, but he usually sticks to projects of his own envisionment, if you know what I mean.
