That rumor probably came from the fact that the WB bought the rights to books 1-4 and then 5-6 and yet to get the rights to book 7, because it isn't written(?) yet. Now that i think about it they might have the rights to the 7th book, but i doubt it.

It wouldn't make sense if they made movies out of the first six, and then randomly stopped, and didn't proceed with making the seventh.

They'd be stupid to only do the first 6 since the 7th will be profit mania. Those who blew off the middle ones will probably see the seventh and by then HP will have a greater fan following than ever, they'll definitely do 7.

It would really ruin the concluding feeling that the seventh book will give. Also, it just gives more people the reason not to read the books, which just can't be allowed.
