I thought the book was great but i felt it was confusing at some points.
The seen in the Ministry when they are escaping and somebody gets punched, i couldn't understand who did the punching and who got punched, although I assume it was Yaxley.
I didn't seem to understand the scene where Nagini came out of Bathilda until Harry explained it afterwards. I thought orginally that Nagini was hiding somewhere and just popped out and bit Bathilda.
I thought some of the deaths were unneccassary, especially Colin Creevey's. I was really mad that Fred died. The Weasley twins were my favorite characters in the whole book. I thought Percy dying in that scene instead of Fred would have been more justifiable because he had just made up with his family. I understand Remus dying but I think Tonks should have survived to raise Teddy. I thought it was hilarious when Molly called Bellatrix a magee and ended up killing her, although I wish Neville would have finished her off. I'm glad Snape turned out good, but I wish his death would have been helping out Harry, it was kind of sad the way he went after all he went through. I thought Hagrid was a gonner twice in the books. The first being in the beginning on the flying motorcyle, that would have been a good way to die. If he would have been eaten by the giant spiders, that would have been stupid. Dobby's death was really sad, and it was also sad how Harry dug his grave. I didn't like Hedwig dying but it kind of forshadowed the rest of the book, with all of the innocent deaths. At least Scrimgeor didn't tell the Death Eaters where Harry was before he died. I really wish Umbridge would have been killed. And I knew Mad-Eye would die, but I thought he should have died in battle.
I wish we would have found out what Dudley saw when the Dementor's attacked him and Harry, and what Harry's parents professions where.
I also wish we would have found out more in the Epilogue. I wanted to know their professions and what everyone else was doing.
One more off topic thing, did anyone notice there was a lot of colon's (as in the puncuation) in the book?

Favorite funny line: "Bathilda is as nutty as squirrel poo."

Another thing.
I remember that JKR said after the release of the CoS movie, JKR said that there was a lot of unknown foreshadowing for book 7 in it, and it would become really obvious once book 7 was released. Any idea what these might be?

I occurs to me that they're going to have a really hard time adapting this one into a movie. There are so many important scenes of explanation (particularly the Lovegood home scene, the Aberforth in Hogsmeade scene, and the final DD/Harry discussion) that would come across as sitting-around-talking that just won't work well in a movie. I wonder if they'll do them as flashbacks?

For a good 5 months they really did nothing but go from campsite to campsite, with some minor things in between. They'll be able to condense that a lot.

True, but that's not what I'm talking about. I mean that the sitting-around-talking scenes would be too static for a movie. They'll have to find some other, more interesting, way to bring out the information found in those scenes.

[glow=maroon,2,300]I JUST finished the book and I am happy that I finally got a theory right. I knew that Snape always hated Harry for a reason, not because he reminds him of his father but because he reminds him of the person he loved and lost. He was jealous of James only because he got Lily in the end. I was very happy that Harry decided to name his son after Dumbledore and Snape. I kind of want to know who Draco married. The one thing I don't understand is about the afterlife and what we were supposed to learn about it. All in all, the ending made me very happy because JKR left an opening if she ever wanted to go back to writing. I think that all that's left right now is to find out if Hagrid and Madame Maxime got back together and had some giant babies. Lol. No but seriously, I loved this book.[/glow]

I loved the book. I thought it wouldn't as good as it was - but it might actually be the best book in the whole series. One of my favorites lines: "Our headmaster s taking a short break," Professor McGonagall said, pointng at the Snape-shaped hole in the window. But yeah. I loved how it went back to the other books and made a connection between them. I hated that Dobby, Fred, Lupin, Hedwig, etc. had to die.

While we're on that subject, what was with Snape running away from McGonnagal? Was he a bat animagus (ironic considering Ron mentioned this possibility in Book 4, and Quirrel reffered to him as "Swooping around like an overgrown bat" in book one)? Or was it just a bit of freaky magic that allowed him to fly, as McGonnagal said, something he learned from Voldemort?

It was just him flying Voldy style, he's always been referred to as an overgrown bat. I loved this book completely and I'm already rereading it. But I didn't like how Wormtail's death was done. And I felt incredibly sorry for snape, his whole life essentially sucked. At no point was he actually happy except for maybe a couple meetings with Lily but she never loved him.
I loved what happened with Kreacher, was sad about dobby, glad they at least mentioned other creatures' rights with Griphook and all but I wish they'd done more.
It was annoying how they spent months doing virtually nothing then destroyed 4 horcruxes(if you include Harry) in one day at the end of the book.

Well,
All is can say is...FANTASTIC book.
I have to i was slightly shocked at some of the twists, but with Rowling, thats what you have to expect.
That Bathlida part was totally disgusting, with the snake coming out of her neck.
I loved the chapter with Snapes memory, and the way he died was totally gruesome. (poor chap, feel quite sorry for him now).
I also liked the way Harry learned to force himself out of Voldemorts mind, and as PJ said, he has matured a lot and aged quite nicely. He reminded me of Dumbledore in the final Voldemort vs Harry scene, like all the calling him by his real name and giving him some advice.
I was quite let down by the epilouge...i think it skipped too much time. I mean 19 years...Harry would have been about 36 then, and anyway i wanted to know more about what happened to the other characters.
This is going to be one hard job to make a movie out of. Its going to require a lot of special effects, plus all that constant moving around at the start of the book is going to be quite difficult.
In the end, it seemed quite like the end of LOTR, with everyone fine...no more worrying of the evil guy who was planning to take over the world, and in a sense it was really sad reading the book, knowing it was the last time i was going to be reading about Harry, and its left a large hole in my 'reading' life that is going to be quite difficult to fill.
Like the Albus Severus name.

Couple things here:
Did Dumbledore see a different place than King's Cross when he was with Harry? Dumbledore didn't seem to notice it, and said something about Harry's party.
And, in the Epilogue, was Teddy Lupin just on the train so he could snog Bill and Fleurs daughter? Because Teddy would have been 19 and too old for Hogwarts.

What i dont understand is how did the Elder Wand end up in Dumbledores tomb when Draco disarmed him? On the tower, once Draco had disarmed Dumbledore, there was no point in which he dropped the wand or had it taken from him while they ran away? How did end up back in Dumbledores tomb?

I thought Teddy Lupin just came to the station to bid Fleur and Bill's daughter farewell, I didn't think he was actually on the train. He wouldn't still at Hogwarts, at any rate.

I could have sworn that James said that he just saw Teddy kissing her on the train, i might be mistaken though.
