I'd just like to say that I was right, pretty much about everything. Really. Snape was good. RAB was Regulus. Kreacher went with him to nab the locket, and it was the locket they saw at Grimmauld place. Harry was a horcrux. Hogwarts re-opens.
I'm just a pimp. The only thing that didn't happen was that I kind of suspected that McGonnagal was going to turn out to be a spy. But nope, she's good, through and through.
So, as to the actual book itself? It was excellent. It was a bit slow in the initial stages, the search for all the horcruxes and so on, but I think it was all done quite excellently, it all fit together extremely well, and the ending....well, the ending was simply beyond words.
The Chapter about Snape's memories was the best, by far, evar. Always knew you were awesome, Snape. I admit, I doubted you, after you severed George's ear, but you came through in the end. Thank you.
Didn't expected Tonks and Remus and Fred to die. That just plain sucked. Umbridge should also have gotten her ass kicked, moreso. Dumbledore and Aberthforth and Neville were just awesome.
I didn't quite understand that bit about the Eldar wand. So Draco disarmed Dumbledore, and thereby became the new owner, but he didn't take the wand? So how come Harry became the new owner when he stole Draco's wand, when it wasn't even the Eldar Wand?
And Harry didn't die because...because Voldemort using Harry's blood to come back created a sort of horcrux for Harry, right, but a good one?
The Malfoys in general were quite awesome. The Hogwarts battle scene was just...win...
I'll stop rambling now. That's the purpose of this thread, for now. Ramble.
It was just ridiculously awesome.
Edit: I'm also awesome for being the first to read it on 667. At least, the first to read about it and post. It took me about 8 hours of straight reading.

Very satisfactory. I strongly believed in the evil Snape theory, so I thought the white doe was Ginny's patronus (changed because she loved Harry).
I also had a theory that Aunt Petunia was in contact with Snape and betrayed the time of Harry's move. It all seemed very plausible, but I was happy to be surprised the actual revelations.
The Elder Wand recognized the wand that defeated it (by Draco's Expeliarmus) and therefore transferred loyalty to that wand's current master, I think. Wands may have a sort of hierarchical culture of their own... at least the Elder wand does.
Umbridge once again showed the depths of her depravity, willing to push whatever new official line was going as long as it gave her personal power. I have to think she suffered more this time for the failure on her watch... her new master didn't tolerate incompetence. The deaths were sad, but I was relieved we didn't lose characters we cared about even more, like Ginny.

It was gratifying to see so many fan theories come true, and the book itself was quite surprising. Not at all like the prior novels, I felt. But an excellent way to go out nonetheless.

i was soo sad when i read that Fred died. he's one of my favorite characters. the book was amazing though...it was a lot to take in. and it was really hard for me to realize that for once they wouldn't have most of their adventures at Hogwarts. but the most important event happened there. and the epilouge is fantastic. and i was ECSTATIC when Ron and Hermione finally kissed i almost screamed!
but i have a question: who was the character that managed to do magic later in life?

I really liked it. The last chapter was great and my favourite parts were near the ending, approaching when Harry goes back to Hogwarts. Oh, and Snape's memories. That was awesome, seeing some of his past. Who is Victiore, from the last chapter?(nevermind, I know now) I also liked how a lot of the fan theories came true. I was very pleased to know that all of the spoilers I read on the internet (other than the first few paragraphs, and the chapter names and some page pictures), weren't true. So all in all, I really liked it. It was a very nice ending. Though it is a little sad that it's all over.

Ah, yeah, I get the wand thing now. Victiore is Ron and Hermione's oldest daughter, I'm guessing. Though it could also be Bill or Charlie or Percy or George's kid. For all we know.
Wait, it sounds french. So it's probably Fleur and Bill's kid.
Umbridge demanding to know where that poor woman stole her wand from was an incredible scene, it's stuck in my memory.

Very good book I finished it at 5 am after buying it at midnight. Wheee. I thought spoiler threads weren't allowed until a week? Anyway. AMAZING book! I loved the idea of the Deathly Hallows. I too didn't understand how Draco owned the wand (but now I do). Something that annoyed me is that they spent like, 2 chapters on 2 Horcruxes, so the destruction of them was very rushed and not very spread out. Voldemort was downright creepy. What was important about Harry having Lily's eyes? And who was the person who did magic later in life? Did anyone expect Hedwig or Fred to die? I was GUTTED! And also about Tonks. Their poor kid has no mum or dad now! All I can say now is: GO MRS WEASLEY! Killing Bellatrix Lestrange, my goodness, that was probably one of the most exciting bits of it! P.S Did anyone think that there was too much swearing compared to the other books?

I think Rowling must have taken out the person who does magic quite late in life. As for the Horcruxes, I was quite glad that they didn't handle it episodically, you know "first we go here, get that horcrux, then here, get that one, and then the final boss comes". I loved how the finale built up to the end siege at Hogwarts, it was well done.
The important thing about Harry having Lily's eyes had to do with Snape. It may have been partially why Snape agreed to help Dumbledore protect Harry, and was also vital for Snape's last words "Look...at....me...", i.e. he wanted to see Lily's eyes one more time before he died.
As for the swearing, meh. Too much? How can you gauge that? This book was different from the rest, darker. I mean, the Ministry of Magic got ovethrown, and pretty much everything went to hell (did NOT see that coming). The Muggle-Born hatred was quite akin to the Holocaust and the Third Reich (heck, they even had Grindelwald to double that connection. Glad he was brought in, we were all quite curious about him. He was awesome, the way he died.)
And for the record, I liked Harry a lot more in this book. He's finally grown up, and isn't acting like an idiot anymore.
And I think Remus' kid being orphaned was supposed to be cyclical, much the same way that Harry got orphaned as a baby, except this time, things aren't as bad as they were for Harry.

It took me 4 hours. I liked the book. It was the greatest out of the seven. Some ends weren't closed, like the person who tries to do magic late in life.
All around, I was satisfied with the ending. I wasn't glad that those people died, I was for some ( Wormtail, Scrimgeour), but I was satisfied that more important characters didn't die. I was also glad when Mrs. Weasley killed Bellatrix. It was funny how her death was like Sirius'.

I finished the book in about 10 hours, but then that was because I went grocery shopping with my mother, and I didn't want to leave it at home; otherwise I think I would finished earlier. Anyways, that is besides the point.
My favourite chapters were the King's Cross, The Second Hogwarts Battle, and the one with Snape's memories (I forget what it's called). Personally, I was quite content with the way J.K. wrapped up everything. A lot of unexpected things happen; I didn't think Fred, Tonks, Remus, Hedwig, Dobby, or Mad-Eye to die.
I also like how many people's theories came true: Harry being a Horcrux and all. Also, I really liked how we learned plenty about Dumbledore. The only thing I want to know is who performed magic later in life?
Oh yeah, I just remembered something! Did anyone realize that since Harry is related to the Peverells, he is also related Voldemort?

I noticed that too. It was weird because they never mentioned it in the book.

Yeah, Nicky, I realised that about Harry and Voldemort too. They're related by blood, so it doesn't matter anymore.

All I can say is, WOW. Norbert's a girl! Who saw that coming?
Also, was anyone else like, "WTF?!" when Hermione and Ron started randomly making out? Heh, it caught me off guard. "House elves, house elves," and then Hermione just throws herself at Ron.
Am I just weird, or was anyone else sad because of the epilogue. I was happy and sad at the same time. Strange feeling.
The book was amazing, my only complaint would be about a couple typos and the fact that none of the trio seemed really affected by what had happened during the seven Hogwarts years. I mean, Hermione was cruciated and she recovered WAY too fast (on an emotional standpoint) for me. Well, I guess the trio is tough. All in all, it's my personal favorite. Some mundane parts got a little boring at times, but the action scenes were FLAWLESS.

So it's probably Fleur and Bill's kid. Yeah, I thought it was Bill and Fleur, because they were older and could have a kid sooner than everybody else, and it sounds french. I was a tiny bit annoyed at how that light thing is called a Put-Outer in the first book and a Deluminator in the last one. I guess the latter sounds more impressive. I think it would be nice if J.K. answered some of the questions of things that didn't turn up in the books, or tell us who was and wasn't supposed to die in the beginning. And I also realized that Harry and Voldemort were related, though they couldn't have been very close.
