Everyone seems so unhappy about the split! I am actually really excited about it. Of course I would have preferred a nice long Deathly Hallows instead, but the chances of that were microscopic. For Warner Brothers it's all about making money. They want to appeal to the largest group of people possible. While Harry Potter fans are certainly willing to watch a 3-4 hour movie, other people might not be. Then of course, the profit would almost double with two separate parts, rather than one. So really, the only alternative to the split would have been a two-hour movie, with so much cut, that it would never do the book justice. In the end the split is a lot more appealing to me than this, even though will be paying for everything twice. There will only be six months between the two parts anyway. The next question is where they will split the movie. I think it will be around the chapter "The Deathly Hallows", or possible around the Malfoy Manor area.
