If I were still in school, I'd be going into the 31st grade. And I don't do class reunions. Lame.

8th grade was the freaking best year of my life. But that's just me. I thought it was awesome. What you should really fear is your freshman year. Or sophmore year. Shudder. I don't know if its the best year altogether but it was definitley the best school year. All of my friends were close and in one place. And the school part was really easy.

We seem to have a very different schooling system. As in we start in February. I'm halfway through Year 10 now and I'm 15. They made us do our Year 11 subject selections the other day. My friend and I decided we would fly off to Neverland and never grow up.

I'm not sure what it is in US grades but I'm going into year 10.
I'm not that worried/scared because it won't be that much different to my last years.
I've been picked to help out the year sevens. I'm slightly nervous about that as they seem to be so noisy.

To clarify schooling systems in the U.S.... generally, a child will begin school sometime while they are 5 years old and that first year is called kindergarten. Some kids go to preschool for a year or two before that, but it's just an option. After kindergarten, you have grades 1 through 12 which puts high school graduation sometime around the age of 18. Many kids continue on to college after that. Most schools start around the beginning of September and go through the beginning of June. My son will be starting first grade next week! Kindergarten was just a few hours in the morning, but now he'll be in school until 3pm. It will be an adjustment for us all, but his class ranking last year was #2 out of 41, so it's all good.

[glow=orange,2,300]I'm the only one going to (I already started) 10th grade.[/glow] You know, Luis, you shouldn't lie, as I'm going into grade 10. Heck yesssss, I'm a freaking sophmore!! My school goes from pre-k to 12th grade. I've been there since the middle of my kindergarden (sp? ??) year. So I have been at the same school for 11 years now *sigh*. It's the same thing every year, maybe a new teacher. My school works in "PACE's" no in books, the teachers don't teach, the "PACE's" do. O, and the teachers aren't called teachers, they're called "supervisors." Usually the same people every year... there is only 2 other people in my grade... who are cousins...

I'm starting 8th grade, although I should be starting 7th. I was put in kindergarten early, but it's strange because I got all A's for the last two years; so why not go into 8th grade?

I'm going into 11th. It's really different for me though because 9th grade was part of junior high and this year I'm only taking 3 high school classes instead of the usual 8 (the rest of my classes will be at the college) so I really only have one real year of high school (in "12th", I'll be going to college full-time).

I'm also going to be a junior/in 11th grade; however, I am only going to be sixteen in November...I jumped the cutoff date for kindergarten by two months or so, then moved to a different state where the cutoff date was several months before that. So now I'm a lot younger than everyone which, while annoying at times, really doesn't matter that much.
Anyway, fun, fun, fun. School starts the day after tomorrow, and I still have 11 chapters of The Grapes of Wrath to read, so, yes, I'm slightly nervous. Although it really shouldn't be difficult to read 11 chapters in a whole day, it still puts quite a bit of pressure on you. I'm also slightly nervous about Honors U.S. History, because I'm not particularly good at social studies - I find it rather dull - and also because I'm (probably) going to take the AP U.S. History exam near the end of this class, which will be my first AP exam, and the only one this year. (Next year, senior year, I'm taking several AP classes, but that's too far in the future for me to care.) I'm not really very nervous about anything...I don't know. Just for some reason I have an inkling that my classes are not going to be as easy as they have been in the past.
