Well, my favorite place in the series was Prufrock Prep. It had such a good, or bad, spirit to it that you couldn't resist but like it, despite its misery. You may disagree but I love Prufrock!! I mean, come on!! Number five was one of my favorites.
List of Favorite Books 1.) The Bad Beginning 2.) The Wide Window 3.) The Austere Academy 4.) The Hostile Hospital 5.) The Slippery Slope
It may at first seem as if I skipped one book, but then it changes a lot!! ;D

Prufrock was so good... I just had some good feeling because of the Quagmire appearence. It felt as if they had luck, but then Handler goes again...

And in the thirteenth book, American soldiers round him up. Unlikely, but funny to contemplate.

Did you hear how, after September 11, people kept asking Lemony if Olaf was a terrorist? It is rather fun to contemplate.

well it all resorts back to the same thing doesn't it. Car bombing= FIRE, deaths, rubble Airplane crashes into the WTC Buildings=FIRE, deaths, rubble Count Olaf and the VFD= FIRE, deaths, rubble

I admit, The Austere Academy was my absolute favorite! I guess it's because that's when you meet the Quagmire's and you learn about VFD and- oh, in my morning paper (or my parents paper in that case) I saw the initials VFD! It was for us thinking of a new Volunteer Fire Department.I wish it was the real VFD.

Austure Academy was the first ASOUE that I read because I didn't realize there were four books before it until I was examining the cover and realized the "Book the Fifth" label on there....Whoops.
I would never want to go to that horrible school! Especially with Olaf and his goonies running harum-scarum around the place. No thank you I think I'll stick to good old public school!

I have a... I wouldn't say friend, but not an enemy, called H., who doesn't like ASoUE because she read The Vile Village and didn't like it. *shakes head sadly*

TAA was also the first one I read, but once I had all of the books I reread them in order. I have all ten, plus the autobio and the Rare Edition.
