I went to look it up and I didn't find anything on it. Can anyone tell me what this book is about? I know it's about people and their relationships. :/ Thank you~ PS: Sorry if this souds odd. Yeah, it's probably deleted. Most of my topics are. I can't remember the exact quote, but something like a bunch of stories about people in love, most of the miserable. ..Yeah, that's the general idea.

I posted this in the Malignant Media forum in response to an unrelated thread, but I figured you would be interested too... I don't believe Adverbs is actually coming out this year anymore. There is no US release date, but Amazon UK and Amazon Japan has it slated for April 2005. I realize that the UK usually gets Snicket books later than the US, so perhaps there's a chance we'll see it around December. I can't find any other information about it on the web, except for the fact that SF Gate reported LAST OCTOBER that he'd finished the novel. Strange. www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi%3Ff=/c/a/2003/10/13/DD138106.DTLI found that an excerpt of Adverbs entitled "Naturally" has been published in an SF area writers anthology called STORIES OF LOVE AND NEUROSES. Only a couple hundred copies were printed...it was a benefit project for 826 Valencia (which has a fun Pirate store in the Mission District). Wish I'd known about it, I would have had one of my friends there pick one up. I see a copy or two show up at collectable book sites like www.abebooks.com, but they tend to be fairly expensive. www.826valencia.org/store/shop.html

Lousy Amazon.co.uk! Seriously, you cannot trust them. They had the wrong release date for the Blank Book for months. They even kept on saying "It will be out on X" on the Blank Book page even months after that date had gone! You couldn't pre-order it, only buy from affliated US stores. I despise Amazon.co.uk.

I don't put much stock in the release date either, since there isn't one listed anywhere else, nor can I determine who is publishing Adverbs in the first place. The Basic Eight has two different publishers it seems, and Watch Your Mouth has yet another.

I'm just glad that there are people here prepared to type out/scan in the Grim Grotto, because it means that if my Amazon delivery is delayed (which I'm almost certain it will be, although they did get Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix to me on the release date) then I'll be able to read the book here and not worry too much, or go mad with impatience, which I have in buckets.
Edit: Used a lower case "i" when I wanted an upper case "I". Lousy typing.
