;D When he's not writing, Stine reads current fiction. He likes Anne Tyler, Ruth Rendell, P.G. Wodehouse and "quiet peaceful reading and British cozies." He admires Stephen King and said if he were still a child, he'd gobble up J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" series. He is friends with Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler, the author of the children's series titled, "Series of Unfortunate Events"). www.bradenton.com/mld/bradenton/entertainment/10052554.htm

Neat. I also notice that both R. L. Stine and Handler like P.G. Wodehouse, who I am a great fan of. Pity that he's dead.

What didn't make sense to me though, was Stine saying of Daniel Handler, "He grew up reading me." Daniel is 33, right? One year older than me. He would have been a sophmore in high school when the first book was PUBLISHED, let alone became popular. Not many high schoolers read Goosebumps, so that doesn't really make sense. Unless he is talking about Handler reading his jokes in the magazine Bananas.

Mebe Handler owns a time machine. That would explain some of the twisty timeline in ASOUE
