I just read on Neil Gaiman's blog about an anthology coming out soon called, aparently, Noisy Outlaws, Unfriendly Blobs, and Some Other Things That Aren't as Scary, Maybe, Depending on How You Feel About Lost Lands, Stray Cellphones, Creatures from the Sky, Parents Who Disappear in Peru, a Man Named Lars Farf, and One Other Story We Couldn't Quite Finish, So Maybe You Could Help Us Out.. Lemony Snicket (not Handler, but Snicket) is writing the introduction to this book. The official site for ordering the book is : store.mcsweeneys.net/index.cfm/fuseaction/catalog.detail/object_id/E65532D9-F327-4EF4-8879-7166D862C23C/NoisyOutlawsbrUnfriendlyBlobsandSomebrOtherThings.cfmThe introduction was actually e-mailed to peopel who get product updates from that website, it can be found online at this LJ entry : www.livejournal.com/users/literaticat/103560.htmlAnyone have any more info on this book? I just heard about it today. -K

I actually already had a thread on this, but yours is better and updated, I guess. Also, that introduction, quite aside from being written in Lemony's usual style and therefore being hilarious, is hilarious. I'm sorry to say that I've read some books which were somewhat like the tedious excerpts... With the exception of that last excerpt, which deserves to be a book on its own. Edit: I think it came out on September 15th. I may actually get it now. Before I wasn't sure if I really wanted to.

Has anyone gotten this yet? How are the other stories? That intro was very funny. I think I'll have to get it just for that.

I'm probably ordering that from Amazon sometime this week, but I don't know just when I'll have it. And I love that introduction, particularly the bit about the Teddy Bear King and Paul Revere.

I just looked at it, and it's both hardcover and slightly expensive. I've stuck it onto an Amazon order that my family's putting together, but I'm not entirely sure if they'd be happy with me getting it (they don't like expensive hardcovers, but I have my doubts as to whether there'll ever be a paperback version).

Amazon USA has it for $14.96, as opposed to McSweeney's $22.00.
I plan to order it as soon as I can.
I ordered it today from Amazon. I'll let you know how it is.

I just got the book in the mail, and I love what I've read of it(the story of Lars Farf is really good, as is "Sunbird" by Neil Gaiman, and of course Snicket's introduction.) I'd post the unfinished Snicket story from the inside of the dust jacket, but I think that's probably against copyright laws.

I just got the book in the mail - about a week earlier than I expected. I don't know when I'll read it, as I got a few other books I'd like to read in that delivery, and I'm also reading The Quiet American. It looks good, though.
