Best American Mystery Stories 2005Now in its ninth year, this celebrated anthology features something for everyone. Encompassing all aspects of the genre, "this series can be counted on to showcase the best of mainstream mystery and crime fiction" (Booklist). Scott Turow spins a suspenseful tale of loyalty between two old friends. Edward P. Jones follows a man on the margins of society -- and of his own sanity. Louise Erdrich probes the depths of a nearly extinct North Dakota. Daniel Handler, also known as Lemony Snicket, enters a seedy bar where a "locked-room mystery" unfolds. Compiled by the critically acclaimed author Joyce Carol Oates, The Best American Mystery Stories 2005 is a highly engaging collection certain to delight mystery aficionados and all lovers of great fiction.Sounds interesting, and everyone likes locked-room mysteries.

I'm not particularly familiar with the locked-room mystery genre, but I'll probably seek out that book. A short mystery story by Handler sounds great.
