Try to stay on topic, please. (Obviously, that's not part of my message to Handler... Although it would be funny if it was, given Lemony Snicket's habit of drifting off on tangents.)

We are staying on topic. We're discussing messages.

The purpose of this thread is not to discuss each other's messages, but for individuals to post their messages, and discuss the details of the card to be sent (which can also be done in MMisc). Some leeway is allowed, but after the equivalent of half a page, I must ask you to move on.

Looking back, I count 25 birthday greetings (think that's right). I hope we get more.
Lauren, what's your deadline going to be?

I'll be putting it together on a Sunday the 12th and sending it on Monday. So the deadline will probably be the 11th because the timezone I live in is ahead of most people on this forum.

I sent you a PM, but i'll copy the message i sent you here anyway i hope it's ok and not too weird As you are Lemony Snicket's representative in all matters, I would encourage you to remind him, should you find him and manage to get a message to him, that it is the anniversary of the day of his birth. He may be busy escaping people who do not care that it is his birthday... and people who may also wish that he had never had a birth day, but do try to remind him. He must remember that he is doing a fantastic job at providing and informing many beings of the unfortunate events of the Baudelaire’s. Many, many people have been inspired and now follow his every word, study it, discuss it, eat it and burn it. May he survive for his next birthday and the next, and the next. J. Happy birthday Mr. Handler! You're one year closer to dying! Hopefully, you won't get too close anytime soon.

I just realized I hadn't written a message for Handler yet. I might as well write one now, before I forget again.
Dear Mr. Handler, The life you lead is undoubtedly one fraught with danger, a phrase which here means "without having the chance to kick back and relax as often as you may like". I hope that it gives you comfort to know that some people are willing to take on your name, with all the danger that goes with it. Happy birthday! -Linda Rhaldeen
