anthropomorphism- attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena
So the definiton in the obituary was either wrong or incomplete. As is the definition of esoteric.
esoteric- confined to and understandable by only an enlightened inner circle

As is the definition of esoteric. esoteric- confined to and understandable by only an enlightened inner circle The "definitions" generally refer to its meaning in the context presented. When Lemony defined "cul-de-sac", he was right, because that's what they came up against. When The Daily Punctilio said that "anthropomorphic treatises" were "very long essays" (or whatever it was), they were right, because that is what it would be - a very long essay. And they didn't actually define esoteric. But they were right - the contents of the fridge were "confined to and understandable by only an enlightened inner circle".

I suppose they were very long essays on anthropomorphism. We've seen some of that within the books. The snow gnats could be considered an example of anthropomorphism because they move in formation as if they have human intelligence.

I never thought of that, but now that you mention it, he probably does it every time there's an animal on scene, and probably all the time with other stuff. I wish I had a better memory.

And the leeches. But that should be about it for animals in the series.
