In my own moderation of the Burdensome Books category (with the exception of Depressing Diversions), then I consider it unnecessary and visually cluttered for one person to have multiple consecutive posts in a single thread - particularly bearing in mind that a new page is automatically created after a set number of posts - when the same information could be provided in a single post by using the "Modify" button in the upper-right corner to add new information into the original post, if it has not been replied to. (If it has been replied to, a new post would be necessary to draw attention to the new information, unless it is a high-traffic thread, but it'd be silly to stop people from having discussions that way.) I make exceptions in some cases, such as when adding information to a thread that has not been posted in for a long time and in which the new poster was also the last person to post in that thread, but that falls more into the category of Bump etiquette.
