For some time yesterday, I tried to access 667 only to find myself IP banned. I should note that my IP(as tracked through my Wikipedia edits and other sources) has not changed in at least a week, so I think I can conclusively rule out the possibility that it shifted to a different, banned IP. I would like to know if anyone else has experienced an arbitrary ban, and if this is a case of hacking or power abuse, it should be dealt with.

I think Cybermystery was aswell. Yes, I was. Pandora and Willis have been speaking about it in a thread in MM. To keep the evidence of these acts, I will lock said thread and move it to the mod board. |

I still don't know the whole story or motivation behind yesterday's bannings. Regardless of that, I have placed an initial punishment on people who I know have broken rules in the past two days. I will further consider the situation after I have settled down at school. This is a completely new type of issue. I was banned myself and would not have been able to access 667 if I didn't have three computers with separate internet connections. The co-admin was also IP banned.
It was good to see that so many of you wrote to me with concerns. However, I did not appreciate the finger-pointing and eye-rolling that came from some of you. We should all know by now that it is best to wait for the facts. That is what I'm doing.
I am leaving for England this afternoon, but I will be present for tomorrow's Penthouse meeting. I'll see you there.

This is a completely new type of issue. I was banned myself and would not have been able to access 667 if I didn't have three computers with separate internet connections. You could have just asked me for help if you had no way to get on. We all know that I know how to get around IP bans.  |
