This week, 667 seems to experienced a revival of sorts.
The week began with an announcement. Daniel Handler had replied to the SixSixSeven Survey, a present put together for him by various members of the forum. This good news brought in a lot of members that had not posted in a while, and it was an exciting time for 667ers old and new. How often have we gotten a letter from Handler himself, after all? It probably helped to set the stage for the surge of activity later in the week.
Soon after, Chaotic Creativity started to surge with activity. This revival began when J. bumped several old stories that were well-loved in their time, and continued as others began to write new stories, from those inspired by Beatles songs to 667 shipping fics to an extremely popular story by Wills that's attempting to involve the entire forum, 667 Dark Tournament. After weeks of The 667er and not much else in this section, the new activity in this reporter's favorite section is exciting.
Meanwhile, Charlotte, long-time poster who had been absent from 667 lately, was returning. Charlotte is well-known for her large-volume posting and her ability to get conversation out of anything, and indeed, between Charlotte and several friends, an entire page of threads was started.
A lot of trends have started in the Menacing miscellaneous section, including an attempt to make as many variation threads of Tragedy's "Notorious" thread as is humanly possible. And while a lot of the recent postings are a bit clique-ish and full of inside jokes, the forum is seeing more activity than it has in months. Let's hope it stays that way.

Libitina and Fantine's Tips on Life, the Internets, and Other Illusions
Libitina: Hello. We've got news.
Fantine: We sure do.
Libitina: Fantine is not dead. At all. She tricked me. She went on a trip to France to meet with her old host's wife. It turns out this old baker and his wife are the parents of Marion Cotillard, who played Edith Piaf in La Vie en Rose.
Fantine: And what does this have to do with me, you ask?
Libitina: She's a sorry, jealous fool, that's all. The old host's wife and Fantine wanted attention. But she's back now, and she will so remain.
Fantine: You make me seem like something really awful, Libitina.
Libitina: Well, naturally so. You're also immature.
Fantine: Onto the tips, yes?
Libitina: Yes. Tip: Who am I?
Fantine: 24601.
Libitina: Very good. Now, real tips. Tip: naps.
Fantine: You're really boring this week. What on earth happened in my absence?
Libitina: A J. M. Barrie character, a large-chinned talk show host, and an Elizabethan prophet.
Fantine: ...Okay, I understand now.
Libitina: Here's a tip. Read Les Misérables by Mr. Victor Hugo. I haven't read it, but the play is excellent, and I'm hoping to read it this summer.
Fantine: Oh, please. You can't handle French literature. You wouldn't know something really French if you had it for a brain.
Libitina: Psh, Fantine. If that ever happens, then we'll talk.
Fantine: I'm silently chuckling, can you tell?
Libitina: Tip: If you ever find yourself in a sewer after a confrontation in which your life was saved, don't commit suicide.
Fantine: We're talking about you, Javert.
Javert: Kind of late now, missy.
Libitina: Tip: Put on your Sunday clothes when you feel down and out.
Fantine: As long as you are not Barbra Streisand.
Libitina: And unfortunately, I am out of tips. Life is crazy these days.
Fantine: And I've got nothing mean to say because you're too bland. Gosh.
Libitina: Happy Easter, everyone!
Fantine: Yes, happy Easter. Good day.

Shelly: Oh, the wackiness.[/u]
Hello, there. Shelly here. So, happy holidays, or "spring break" (for all you Northern Hemispherians). You NHs are just coming out of winter, while all us SHs are starting to experience the colder weather. Personally, I'm not complaining. Only because I can wear my beige scarf and beanie. Well, in Aussieland the weather's been out of wack. A heat wave lasting several days, then a sudden cod day that has us all shivering. It sucks. The 667 Brawl promising to be interesting - much discussion particularly over who will win out of the Sisterhood or the Goblins. Oh, and happy easter! If 667 was a single entity (like Linda's Valentine's Vendetta), I'd just buy the biggest egg. I seem to have gone off chocolate this particular easter. Like, I'm not wolfing it down like so many others would be. My current siggy song: For You I Will (Confidence) by Teddy Geiger. The new Panic album comes out on Tuesday! I'm psyched.

Movie of the Week: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Trailer / IMDb / Rotten Tomatos: 83 %
This is a great movie. One of my favorites. It’s…well, I guess you could say it’s film noir. It’s about crime and it’s gritty and awesome and so on. But in the end I guess I’d call it a snappy murder mystery, not noir. But I digress.
The script is crazy good. The dialogue is fantastic. Some of the best lines in any movie, ever, and I’m not kidding. I’ll get onto the plot now. Harry Lockhart (Robert Downey Jrn!) is a small time thief, who, after having his partner shot in a small-time caper, runs directly into an auditioning hall while being pursued by the police. Unsurprisingly, he does a great performance about a guy who’s just had his partner killed, and is promptly shipped off to Los Angeles for the high life of parties and movies and suchlike.
He’s paired with Gay Perry (Val Kilmer) who is a detective and is supposed to give Harry detective lessons so he’ll be able to play a more convincing role or something. And Harry also runs into the insanely hot Harmony, his childhood crush. Pretty soon a bizarre turn of coincidences lands them hip-deep in a pile of corpses (not literally) and criminals. Then they have to solve the crime, and get out alive, etc. etc.
It’s seriously a great movie. The acting is great – Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jnr. are awesome. The script? Fantastic. And the story, despite its complexity (which is inherent to the genre anyway) is pretty good, too, and isn’t actually that hard to comprehend.
I also liked how Harry can break the fourth wall – that is, he directly addresses the audience in a number of scenes, which is always fun, especially when he nitpicks about his own role as narrator and the way the scenes are ordered.
Watch it, is all I can say. It’s funny, it’s witty, it’s interesting, it’s well-made. A good all-around movie, although I guess you could say it’s aimed more at adults than it is children. But I’d seriously recommend this to everyone.
That’s about all I’ve got to say for now. And for a while. You may have noticed lately that my articles have been going downhill. This is mostly due to the fact that I always without fail end up slapping them down Sunday night after I’ve just gotten back from the lateshift at work. Besides; I’m running out of movies. Nothing good coming out in the near future, and I’m too busy to be going around finding old movies to review. So I’m officially stepping down as weekly columnist. I just don’t have enough time nowadays to commit to this. Sorry, Akbar. Sorry, everyone. I’ll probably get the writing cravings again in about two weeks, so you can probably expect some sort of haphazard, non-serial articles coming in at some point. But yeah. It’s been fun. Good night.
Also, why the hell is nobody reading my latest story, damnit?
