My friend though about this. How could you put up a lwwsuit againsts a spectre/gohst/dead person that is causing you mental and physial harm. IF say you were to file a lawsuit against X (dead person) for say making you fall frm a third storey window while seeing them die. First of all there are practicalities. E.G, Well they can't provide testimony for themselves nor could they hire a lawyer. And also would it be right to take money from a bank/money lift in will from it's rightful heir. Disscuss possibilities.

oh, so you mean if they made you fall from a 3rd story window, could you charge them with something?
well, you're right, they can't defend themselves, so, unless there were witnesses and proper evidence that it did happen, you couldn't prove it. But, if there WAS evidence and witnesses, you might take out a lawsuit against their family/partner, and make them pay you if you were hurt in anyway. but it would be a tough trial, and you would only win in certain circumstances, and with a damn good lawyer! but seeing as their family wasn't directly responsible, then i doubt it.

M: What if you both fell out of the window, and there were witnesses that could testify that the dead person was pushing you out of the window, but you both fell out, and only he died? Endy: You'd probably win under those circumstances...

Hopefully, the case would be thrown out of court.

but you can't sue, if they're dead. their family isn't responsible, so they can't be charged for something they didn't do.
it's as simple as that (in most cases). true, in some circumstances, where that person did considerable damage to your property, or even to you, their (the dead person),'s insurance may have to cover the cost, or it may come out of their own bank (which i guess, will actually be coming from a family member if the money was left to them on a will). i'll check into it to see if i can find the actual consequnces.
