Thanks for the forecast, Tiago; it's good to have an idea of when we might cease to contain our excitement.

Author's Disclaimer: Sorry for the delay. I meant to post it earlier but it just wasn't coming to me. And today, inspiration struck full-power. ^^ I hope you enjoy TPP! Chapter One
Decorations – a word which here means “objects used to decorate someone’s room, car, or trash can” – are something that not everyone takes seriously, specially during certain holidays. Decorations are used in holidays to spread the spirit of said holidays, to let people know when it’s Christmas, Mardi Gras, or your birthday, and this is certainly the case with Halloween. Because, when the Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus, Sunny and Beatrice Baudelaire rode into the area of the city known as Thriller Park in the truck driven by one Dr. Audrey Addams, they noticed several Halloween decorations spread all around the park. The park was the home of the person sitting in the passenger’s seat, one Desmond Fulfillment, and the person sitting with the youngest Baudelaire on her lap, Cindry Fulfillment, his daughter. It struck the Baudelaires that Halloween decorations would be up so soon, as It wasn’t even october yet, and it seemed too early to begin dressing up in monster costumes and demanding candy from your neighbours. ‘Isn’t it a tad too early for Halloween?’ Klaus Baudelaire, the only boy of the four orphans, asked. ‘Yes, this is strange. We’ll have to ask my employees about that.’ Desmond Fulfillment replied without turning his head to look at Klaus. Desmond was still very nervous from what had just happened. Not long ago the Baudelaires were in the company of a valorous volunteer and his grandmother, Augusten and Helena Burton, when the villains attacked Burton’s Bazaar – the place where the Baudelaires had tried to help uncover a murder plot and failed miserably at it – and Helena died, and who knew what had befallen Augusten Burton, who was so gentle towards the Baudelaires – specially Violet, the eldest – and the other salespeople of the bazaar, many of whom had been working against the Burtons with the other side for quite some time. ‘Where are we?’ Cindry Fulfillment asked as she woke up. She had had been asleep for a few minutes, as it took them a while to make sure they weren’t being followed by any cars as they made their way to the park. Upon seeing Cindry awaken, Klaus smiled. He was in love with Cindry, as once a noble volunteer was in love with another, only to have her marry someone else and leave him forever, and as I was never fortunate to be. I’m glad to say Cindry corresponded Klaus’ feelings, but it is my sad duty to document the true events, and the truth is that Klaus Baudelaire and Cindry Fulfillment would never know complete happiness. ‘We’re home, sweetheart.’ Desmond replied again, this time, turning to eye his daughter whom he had so thoroughly searched for ever since her capture by the vile woman known as Esmé Squalor. ‘We’re finally home.’ Cindry smiled at her father. ‘I can’t even believe I’m here…The last thing I remember is working at In’N’Out Burger as a waitress.’ She said. ‘Really? You don’t remember what happened at Addams Asylum?’ The driver, Dr. Audrey Addams, a psychiatrist, asked. ‘I’ve heard about patients who were submited to electroshock therapy losing their memory eventually. I’m sure you’ll be back in one piece soon, Cindry.’ ‘Who are you again?’ Cindry asked. ‘She is Audrey Addams, Cindry, and…she will soon be my wife.’ Desmond replied. Everyone in the car whimpered, stunned by the sudden news. ‘When did that happen?’ Violet Baudelaire asked. She hadn’t heard good news in a while, and someone getting married is always good news – unless the other person getting married doesn’t want to – and was eager to learn anything positive that might happen. ‘Ever since I came to the city, Desmond has been my best friend, and recently our relationship took a romantic turn. In these dark times, we don’t know what will happen to us, so we plan to get married as soon as we can.’ Audrey said. ‘What do you think, Cindry?’ Desmond feared his daughter’s opinion. It was visible in his expression. Cindry looked down, sad. ‘I don’t know. I should be happy for you. I will be. But I can’t be happy right now. Nothing against Audrey, it’s just…I can’t be happy for anyone right now.’ The silence that fell upon those inside the truck was feasible. It was a relief when after a curve, a tall building made itself visible not very far away. ‘Look, Cindry. Our home.’ Desmond broke the silence, pointing to the building. It was a very large, old but well-preserved, and opulent house several stories high. It had a balcony and many windows, and a tower, and Halloween decorations were visible here and there, as the car approached the house. ‘What on earth…?’ Said Desmond as he got out of the car, when Audrey pulled over in the driveway. The shop was open, and a blonde girl in an orange and black stripped dress with a black apron was outside, carrying a box of goods. ‘Farrah, what is happening? Why are the decorations up? It’s not even october yet.’ ‘Oh, master!’ The girl suddenly blushed, frightened by the sudden appearance of Desmond right beside her, and dropped the box she was carrying, spilling the contents all over the driveway. ‘Oh, forgive me!’ She then crouched to the ground and began taking the goods – all kinds of halloween-themed toys and such – Then, another girl, a brunette in the same getup – word which here means ‘choice of clothing’ – appeared from the inside of the house. ‘Master! You’ve arrived and wi-Oh!’ The brunette girl noticed the mess that the blonde girl had made and took a furious expression on her face. ‘Farrah! Why do you have to be such a ditz?! You embarrass me!’ This only made the blonde girl blush more, as she clumsily gathered the toys to put them back inside the box. ‘Master, don’t you know? It’s been decided Halloween will come earlier this year, and that it will be for several days in a row as opposed to just one!’ The brunette girl said as she rushed to Desmond Fulfillment’s side. ‘What? What kind of nonsense is that?’ Desmond uttered in confusion. ‘Oh, but it’s true. Halloween begins tomorrow, master. You’re in for a great deal of profit the next few days. Everyone will come to Creepy Costumes Halloween Store, every day, for the next few weeks! You’ll be rich! Well, richer.’ The brunette girl added. ‘But who decided such nonsense? Halloween is only once a year!’ Desmond reasoned. The brunette girl smiled. ‘Oh, but it was the Candy Queene, she’s the new Queen of Halloween of both Dark Avenue and Bright Avenue, and she decided to have the biggest halloween of all this year.’ ‘I don’t like the sound of that.’ Desmond said, with a worried expression. The brunette girl was bewildered. ‘But why not? I just said it, you’re in for a fortune, master! Cheer up! I know it will be hard work the next few days, but if someone doesn’t destroy your shop then we’ll all be happy to serve you and the customers!’ The brunette girl said enthusiastically, while the blonde girl blushed even more as she finished putting everything into the box, and stood up. ‘Also, it’s been decided that this Halloween shall be named Hallow-In, because if I recall correctly, the Candy Queene said Halloween is in, so it has to be Halloween everyday from now on, at leats between Dark and Bright Avenue.’ The brunette girl added. ‘In? Oh boy.’ Desmond uttered. He looked at the Baudelaires, and they did not have to utter a word to comprehend that Esmé Squalor was already one step ahead of them even before they escaped the burning bazaar. And no ammount of decorations could distract them from that.

HO! It has begun! Very exciting so far.
I'm worried by the bit about K and C never finding true happiness - how does Tiago know? Will one of them die? Or be swallowed by the Great Unknown, perhaps? But in this world it's possible to come back from the Great Unknown. It's disturbing, anyway.

And the the Baudelaires' latest adventure has fallen upon us! *does a happy dance in honor of this momentous occasion* My, but there is so much to say about the first chapter! Firstly, I found the mention of decorating garbage cans to be highly amusing and very Lemony. Secondly, it was sad to discover the identity of the Burton who perished in TBB. Though I imagine Helena didn't die without putting up a fight, and it's obvious she lived a full life. I do wonder where Augusten is, though, and if he and Violet will meet again soon. Oh, man, but you should've seen my jaw drop upon reading this! It WAS NOT something I was expecting, which made it all the more entertaining to discover. You really know how to surprise your readers, don't you, Tiago? I hope Cindry will be able to be supportive of her father's relationship, once she's feeling like herself again. Like Hermes, the part about Klaus and Cindry never finding happiness concerns me, too - not to mention the answers to the questions surrounding the Great Unknown. On another note, I liked the comparison between their relationship to that of L and B. And how sad that Tiago never found someone! Then again, romances don't seem to be an achievable goal for anyone in the world of ASoUE, do they? Sad. BTW, even though I'm quite sure I've mentioned this before, I'd like to say again how very creative and awesome Esme's word for everyone's favorite sugar-induced holiday is. I can't wait to see what sort of Hallow een-In costume she'll sport. I like the two salesgirls, as well; especially Ferrah and her endless blushing. She could so easily be relative of Jerome's! I wait eagerly yet patiently for Chapter Two. ^^

Secondly, it was sad to discover the identity of the Burton who perished in TBB. Though I imagine Helena didn't die without putting up a fight, and it's obvious she lived a full life. Yes, I think it would have been sadder if Augusten had gone. Yes, that worried me as well. Though did he not mention being in bed with someone once? Well, Bertrand and Beatrice had fifteen happy years, and Ike and Josephine probably had more. And then there is Sir and Charles - though in YASOUE, of course, they have broken up, which is probably a good thing, really.

@emmz: I had the Audrey-Desmond relationship planned from the beginning, so I'm pleased that it surprised you so. In another note, I bet Cindry will warm up to Audrey. And about Helena's passing, yes it was sad, but she was old and at least Augusten is still alive. About K and C's future, all I can do is hint that while it's no completely bleak, it's not completely bright either. Hermes: That is, if you consider that it was indeed he that wrote the entry about being in bed with someone. It could just as easily have been an imposter! lol

Well, Bertrand and Beatrice had fifteen happy years, and Ike and Josephine probably had more. I don't seem to be the best when it comes to remembering details, do I? Then again, I suppose I was thinking more along the lines of relationships that were still intact. I wholeheartedly concur. @emmz: I had the Audrey-Desmond relationship planned from the beginning, so I'm pleased that it surprised you so. In addition to being cousins, I think we must also be mind-twins (a term coined by a friend of mine, since one of us is always saying something seconds before the other says it). A little while after I'd posted my comment, it occurred to me to ask you if you'd had the idea planned out prior to writing the chapter. But I figured I could PM you about it later, or wait for you to reply to my post and then work it into my response. However, I'm grateful about the way it worked out. Aww, yay! It makes me very happy to know that, as I've loved Audrey ever since her appearance in TAA. And how helpful it must be to have a psychologist in the family (it most certainly saves you a ton of money on therapy, LOL). Yes, indeed. And just think of how devastated poor Violet would be, if things had taken the opposite turn. Especially since she's still wondering what became of her first love. Well, it's always better to have a little hope, than none at all... Thanks for supplying us with that bit of information, Tiago. It never occurred to me that someone could have impersonated you him!

@emmz: Just a sidenote, Emmz, Audrey is actually a psychiatrist, not a psychologist.

Then again, I suppose I was thinking more along the lines of relationships that were still intact. You're right, of course, that romances tend not to work out too well in the world of ASOUE. Lemony and Beatrice, Olaf and Kit, Olaf and Esme, Esme and Jerome, Kit and Dewey, Captain and Mrs Widdershins, Mrs Widdershins and her first husband, Thursday and Miranda, Viloet and Quigley, Klaus and Fiona...... it's very sad.

I've been away, so I've only just read it - and I like what I see. To be fair on Desmond's employees, it's not all that unusual to see Hallowe'en goods on sale before October, or at least not where I live. The stores are just straining for a holiday to get people excited, i.e. ready to buy lots of frivolous goods. Actually, Hallow-In is a pretty good commentary on what amounts to the extension of holidays through marketing.
As for Klaus and Cindry - well, complete happiness is an elusive thing, isn't it? But that's not to say that they won't find some happiness. There are a few ways it could go, and let's face it, they probably already have it better than Violet and Quigley, who knew each other for about a day.
