Do we need to start a letter or email campaign to Harper Collins, to get this thing going in the U.S.

I imagine it's more that Egmont is jumping the gun; HC, on the other hand, might not be willing to commit so soon. But I think it's very likely that HC will publish the new series in the U.S., if they published books like The Lump of Coal and The Composer is Dead. A non-gimmick full novel series is likely to sell better than those.
And besides, whatever happens, someone will publish it in the U.S., even if it's not HC, although they're such a behemoth that they should easily be able to outbid other publishers. Snicket's a sure-fire seller. You'd have to be mad to turn down the opportunity to publish him. 2012 is a long way away; even though the series hasn't been bought yet in the U.S., it's still more than possible for it to be purchased and published before it comes out in the U.K.

If the world doesn't end in 2012, that is.But a new series of investigations from Lemony Snicket?I'm not sure which is worse, doomsday or dreadful tales of misfortune and despair. *laughes* ^^

Yeah I'd say it will be somewhat ASOUE related. I think this mainly because of older interviews Handler did, he always said that he planned another series in the Baudelaire's world, but not specifically about them.So I'd say it's more than likely it will be V.F.D. related. Plus there are so many unanswered question and I think Snicket wants to at least answer some of them.

I'm not sure I remember such a series of quotations. Perhaps you could provide a link to back that up?

Either way, I'm extremely excited for this new series. It could be basically about anything at this point, and I'm so curious to see what Snicket will write about this time.

It was in an interview after the end came out, I just don't remember which one. still though considering he's saying it's an investigation I'd say it at least has something to do with the Baudelaire's world.

I hope it's closely related to ASoUE, perhaps a sequel series? It would be awesome if that were the case wouldn't it? ^^

I'm wishing for a Quagmire centered story.I've always wanted to know/read more about the Quagmire triplets.Maybe the Quags could go on their own little series of unfortunate events and meet the Bauds somewhere?^^

I'm hoping it'll be something that can stand on its own rather than depending on aSoUE for its interest value.

I would like one that has new characters, but still takes place in the ASOUE world, with V.F.D. and all that. And I think it would be really cool if then the old characters made small reappearances throughout the new books.

That's actually pretty much what I'm expecting. Not all that much more than any other possibility, mind, but that would seem to be the most obvious direction to go in. Maybe we'll be able to learn more when Snicket makes his U.K. appearances in January.

Does anybody here live in the U.K? If so they could give us feedback on when its going to come if they go. Just an idea. *shrugs*

Well, as luck would have it, I live in the U.K., as do Hermes and cwm, so I dare say that someone will be able to keep the forum informed of events.
