Hmm, maybe Lemony's dropped from the height by someone while he's in a helicopter, and it's caused by overloaded helicopter which is flying too near to the ground because of the weight, and the peoples in helicopter start to drop anything (and anybody) weighty from there to makes the helicopter lighter and flying higher, so they will avoid the helicopter from something high and enormous which stands towering not too far from the helicopter's front side, or, to avoid the helicopter from sinking into the sea under it. However, it's just my guess. P.S.: Sorry if my english language's a bit terrible.

I'm sure we understand you fine, GloomyGrady. Dropping people from aircrafts is an interesting interpretation of "Drop Everything," and sounds just like something Lemony's enemies might do. Could the jump have been voluntary, I wonder? It doesn't appear as if he has a parachute, however.

Has anyone noticed that this could possibly be a referance to The Snicket Lad song in the Unauthorized Autobiography. If you don't remember Snicket was dropped to the ground as VFD took him. I have a strong impression that this is what it ties in with.

While I don't think the specific instance depicted in the illustration can be that moment, I wouldn't be surprised if it was used to link the two incidents - for Snicket to have a digression about his history of being dropped.

Edit: This is just something that came to mind when I saw the picture. Very similar in style. May be something Seth could've been influenced by (or/and other intros from 50s/60s movies, often designed by the legendary Saul Bass, who famously collaborated with Hitchcock on his movies, which also influenced this particular intro, and is a style I am very happy to be applied unto Snicket's new series. Fits like a glove).

The website opens tomorrow. Any speculation/ideas about what time, though? Personally I'm betting on the same time the emails were sent out, around 5.30pm (British time).

Probably best just to check repeatedly now and then. Although I won't really be expecting it to happen before the British afternoon, and as you say, the same sort of time the e-mails were sent out makes sense. Best to keep 667 open too, as the news will probably spread here very quickly. I might make a thread for the site in advance, or I might leave it to the moment it appears. Unlike the e-mails, we know for sure what day to expect this on.

That might also be something to consider, if no one has already - we already have a section for ATWQ, but once we have an official site that might be something to add to "Official Sites" and various other records.

I don't know if anyone else said this already, but I only just noticed that the man falling in this picutre seems to be the same falling man on the book cover.

We mentioned it, but it's an important point. The teaser cover gave us something of a frame of reference (the cliff), and the fact it's Lemony falling - not some random character - is the affirmation needed to ascertain his plight.
