Recently, Attaché cases used to promote ATWQ at a literary convention have been popping up on eBay. I managed to snag one for a reasonable price and I wanted to share all the really cool things I got. I think I'll post the rest tomorrow though....

That they're at SDCC only surprised me for a moment - it's become quite a big media event, I understand, and that should hopefully get Snicket a lot of attention. I think it fits his aesthetic - exaggerated, unreal.
"Snicket Delivers Snicket" - no chance of that being outside the U.S. and maybe Canada, but I'm sure everyone will enter. If anything, I think it might be a bit of a risk, depending on how far in advance they intend to deliver the novel. This is a more interconnected age; I'm concerned that spoilers could become an issue. Guess I'll just have to make sure to set up a spoiler thread before the handover date.
Looking forward to the rest, Cybermystery.

Seth's work is rather comic-like, isn't it? I know that's not exactly what Comic-Con is about, but it might be why they're allowed to advertise there.
"Snicket Delivers Snicket" - Doesn't seem they're too concerned about preserving children's anonymity, as they plan to film the delivery for "viral digital outreach."
May I ask where was this sheet located in the Case, Cybermystery?

I think it's part of the "gatefold publicity schedule," a.k.a. All The Right Answers To All The Wrong Questions, am I right, Cybermystery?

Was that all inside or was there more, which you aren't going to post yet because suspense is healthy?

Thanks, Cybermystery! Let's see: The fact the same title page has now appeared in both Egmont and LB promotions leads me to believe it is the final draft. The "Dear Stranger" letter, too, is interesting - I suppose it's placed on the back of the first two chapter excerpts? - and I wonder if this new address will substitute for the "Dear Readers" of the past. Clearly it's not the letter that will appear on the actual book, given the "publication date" line and general comments on the publishing industry, but I'd not be surprised to see something similar to it on the official book. It's interesting also to note we've seen the Snicket photograph before. The six questions listed are noteworthy also, particularly "Who is on the other side of that door?" as in Chapter Two Theadora and Lemony are left on the side of a door (the question can apply to either side of the party). "Where is the item everyone is looking for?" reads remarkably like the sugar bowl mystery, even if it most likely refers to the statue. And reading "When will Snicket get a decent meal?" I emphasized "decent" rather than "meal", that is, not just when will Snicket get an opportunity to eat, but when will he get the opportunity to eat a meal that isn't poisoned (or otherwise)?

Thank you, Cybermystery. Time to have a look at these. The pen is simple, but effective; interesting that it directs to LSATWQ.com, which objectively has not done much but drop hints so far. Could we see something more substantial soon? The Ink Inc. banner continues to be very stylish. It is a very evil colour scheme, it must be said - the violet hour, the fiery background to the octopus. But I'm not sure it's informative besides telling us not to trust these guys, which we probably wouldn't anyway. The title page, as Sherry Ann notes, does seem to be final - it's actually kinda minimalist, with the off-centre-ness of Snicket's falling figure kind of in line with the quirky bubble writing of Snicket's signature; everything is slightly at angles, slightly messy, I think. That's clearly deliberate. It's very interesting to compare the draft Chapter Two image to the final - in the final, the roadster is actually present, driving past the syringes, there's only one fallen boat... quite a few little details, and only one big one, which is those large signposts on the hills, but I don't think they're significant anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if the Dear Stranger letter had parallels to the final version, and I like the photographic look they're going with; I am taking that as indicative, although that may not be entirely accurate. The first paragraph might stay the same; "Dear Stranger" probably won't, as people will be acquiring the book in different circumstances, and I think it's been tweaked for that. If the photograph's a stock image, a new one will probably be taken.
