Nice. I sort of expected the trailer to be After-Effects-animated illustrations, but the narration by Daniel Handler is a very nice asset to have in the trailer. And the new illustrations really are as pretty as the others. (Also, I'd put it up on YouTube if it weren't for EW's coding of the video which prevents anyone from downloading it.)

I suspect that the publishers will want the video to spread as far and as wide as possible. Much like Chapter One, I doubt it will remain an EW exclusive for very long, although of course unlike Chapter One we cannot simply copy this one out ourselves...

I am so glad they didn't use actors in that video- I don't think the effect would've been as nice or credible as the illustrations. It reminds me of the "12 books in 120 seconds" video. Daniel Handler's narration was undoubtedly the best bit.

I agree, Handler's narration was very good. I thought there were more recognizable illustrations than not, but certainly some new features were present that enhanced the overall presentation. I wonder if the on-screen answers are also the answers given in the book, that is, not given at all? It rather reminds me of the UA questions, which were scratched out but answered anyway within the given chapter.

I screen capped the new illustrations from the trailer, but they are somewhat low quality. I've gotten rid of the watermarks to the best of my ability- which isn't much. Some of the illustrations were final versions of pictures seen in the email promotions and on the facebook page and those aren't included.

Thanks for the pictures Bee The evil looking cat is interesting. And it seems like there will be a lot of running away from others and running after others.

Alright, now I had the time to properly study the new illustrations we got to see in this lovely trailer. So this probably won't be of much interest to Dante, who already read the book, but to anyone still eager to speculate about what's happening in the book: At 0:22 we see a taxi with "Bellerophon" written on its side (probably the name of the taxi company). According to Wikipedia Bellerophon is a hero of Greek mythology and "the greatest hero and slayer of monsters" (alongside three others), whose greatest feat was killing the Chimera, a monster that Homer depicted with a lion's head, a goat's body, and a serpent's tail: "her breath came out in terrible blasts of burning flame." This, of course, is probably an allusion to Lady Mallahan, who is said in a legend to have slayed the Bombinating Beast, which is not very unlike the Chimera. At the 0:34 mark we see a hot air balloon... will Hector make a reappearance? And finally there's the picture of Mrs. Sallis with the blindfold in what seems to be water. Does that illustration prove our theory that Stain'd will get flooded by the sea? Or is this just another wrong question? Edit: Oh, wow, I also took screencaps and removed the watermark ( see here). Damn, could've avoided some tiring editing if I knew Bee would've done this : /

Hmmm... In one of the pictures we see Moxie have her shoe fall off while climbing the hawser, and in the next picture she is shoeless... Clearly this is important to the plot... I am looking forward to this book so much... Edit: Oh, God... The embarrassment... I am so bad at remembering names...

Hmmm... In one of the pictures we see Moxie have her shoe fall off while climbing the hawser, and in the next picture she is shoeless... I think that's not Moxie, that's Ellington Feint.

I don't think it's meant to be Moxie on the hawser, it's probably Theodora- note her wild looking hair. As for the second picture, which I think is Ellington Feint, she could be shoeless, or it could just be the illustration.

I don't think the picture after the one that shows someone losing her shoe is the same person who is now shoeless, because she only would have lost one shoe, but she has either both or none, her feet look the same.

This trailer made me so excited I couldn't contain myself. God bless Snicket's tumblr for alerting me to this as soon as it came out.
