That's why I put in "last time I checked".

It was broken the last time I checked, too, stuck on a perpetual loading screen, but I'll check again. ...Nope, going nowhere.

I guess Bandit only said that to disagree with me.

I said it because it's true, it's working perfectly fine for me. Can you not be bothered to click on the link for one second and check for yourself?

I checked again. It wasn't broken, and there were stuff I didn't know was there.

Okay, Bandit, I'm sorry. I just checked, and it's working fine. I shouldn't have judged you.

It is working now, but I would like to emphasise that, when I checked yesterday morning, it wasn't working, just as it hadn't been working for some weeks. A fix must have come through quite recently.
Edit: It seems to run a little better than it used to, too.

so it's basically now safe to assume the page was just one big red herring/stupid prank, right?

Red herring? Yes. Stupid prank? No, it's just marketing. Back then it got me hyped, anyway.

I think it was simply intended to be a collection of cryptic, oblique references to the plot. They could have done with adding more for further books in the series, but LB's marketing team seems to have been somewhat overworked as the series went on, so I'm not wholly surprised it fell by the wayside. More a teaser than anything else, in the final analysis.
