This is simply just for fun, and just something I randomly came up with. Let's say we (as in fellow 667 DA users) were given the chance to pick any one of the 13 books to make it into a short film, to both write the screenplay and direct; which one would you choose and why? For me I would choose to do TMM. And the main reason why is because a big part of that book's themes has to do with eyes, vision and hypnosis; and like Klaus I too have to where glasses. I am virtually blind without them, so the eye thing is a big thing for me. That and the challenge of creating a character who is entirely built around constant smoke that covers their face would seem like an interesting yet fun challenge.
What does anyone else think?

TSS. because it would look great on film, plus The Quigley stuff gives a great excuse to have flashbacks to various locations from past books.

I think the mirroring in TPP would be highly satisfying... but TBB would probably be easiest on the budget side of things, I think. It's even clear in the original text that Olaf's house is just a scrappy kind of house that happens to have a turret on the back; it's nothing impressive, unlike the manor in the actual ASoUE movie.

Artistically, I'd like to give TEE's plot a chance at a rewrite. Practically, I agree TBB would probably prove the easiest to render onscreen, since later books all invoke some extreme setting or expensive prop - with the exception of TAA, perhaps.
I think it would also be interesting to see how others might incorporate the more literary elements in ASOUE into a film version, too. The two pages of darkness in TEE could be shown as a blackout moment of silence, for instance, the déjà vu chapter could imitate a skip in the film reel, etc.
