The statue wouldn't fit at all.

Without knowing what the Bombinating Beast does and whether it would be a good idea to hide it away, and dangerous if it were retrieved, is something we probably won't know until ?4 - but it doesn't matter, because a milk bottle couldn't fit into a sugar bowl. If any mysterious items in this series are going to be connected to the sugar bowl, it's likely to be the item that Kit stole from the museum.

I can't imagine what could be in it. I just recall an angry Esme saying that it was hers and it was stolen by Beatrice. Maybe it was hidden in there after or before but I am curious when at some point it became the sugar bowl everyone was after.
