I saw him at Syracuse last night for a speaking event. Really, it was a good time. He's hysterical. He was doing a book signing in the lobby. I hadn't brought one (argh!) since I didn't know that'd be happening. But I got this picture and asked him, "Why does Hangfire want to return the sea to its place?" He said he couldn't give away things that are found in the books, "that wouldn't be sporting of me." But then he said, "I like the question."

I'd forgotten that Handler was putting in a December appearance! (Just the one, and then a couple more in February. Much harder to keep up at this point.) I'm glad you got the chance to meet him, prestorjohn, and could get a photograph as well. You have the right hat for the job, I see. And I agree that it was a good question; maybe even the right one. Too early to tell if Handler's response was telling... but I think it was.

"That wouldn't be sporting of me"? An unusual answer for him. I agree with Dante; you've probably hit on something.
